0.406 -> Hi, we'll be playing with the Color Blend Mode in this lesson, which will be divided into 3 parts.
6.824 -> First of all, go to the Layers icon and click on the letter N in a layer.
11.753 -> You'll see many color modes options.
15.741 -> I've made some sample colors to show you how they look when you change the mode.
19.993 -> Let's get started.
21.587 -> Scroll up above Normal mode, and you'll find a group of color blends that offer different styles of dark shadow.
28.664 -> The Normal mode gives us our simple colors.
31.84 -> Then, we have the Light blend modes that provides soft lights to hard lights.
37.273 -> This includes the light that allows us to see the brightest color such as the Vivid Light.
42.89 -> After that, we have a group that allows us to adjust the colors in so many ways. There are so many options to play with.
50.56 -> There are no fixed rules about which one you should use. It depends on each person's style and preference.
56.806 -> But I'll be sharing with you my personal techniques when I use the Color Blend Mode.
62.609 -> I like using the Color Blend Mode to control the light. I'll show you how in a second.
67.747 -> First, I'll add a layer and rename it Shadow.
75.993 -> Then, I'll choose a Grey color. Now let's add some shadows.
79.907 -> Choose an Airbrush and adjust the brush size based on the object.
86.923 -> After that, I'll paint the area where I want it to look darker.
90.916 -> It's very convenient. You won't get tired from shading.
96 -> Just use an Airbrush and change the color blend mode to Color Burn.
100.892 -> You can also use the Multiply or Linear Burn mode. Do it the way you like.
106.344 -> Reduce the opacity to help it blend well.
110.393 -> It's darker and smoother now, see?
113.421 -> Now that we've finished the shadow, let's move and add light.
117.15 -> Add a layer and rename it, as usual, rename it "Light".
123.969 -> Then, choose the white color.
127.655 -> Choose an Airbrush as usual, and emphasize where you want the light to hit.
137.612 -> After you're done, choose the Overlay mode, or you can choose Soft Light or Hard Light, that's fine too.
145.132 -> Then, adjust the opacity as you like.
149.058 -> I'll add a bit more light in the front here.
