Buick Envision 2023 Review
Buick Envision 2023 Review
The 2023 Buick Envision remains largely unchanged from the previous model year. The middle child of Buick’s SUV lineup, the Envision has been designed to offer a premium feel at a mid-premium price. In some ways it lives up to that billing, but a mediocre powertrain and a wealth of worthy competitors make its job difficult.

0.06 -> The 2023 Buick Envision remains largely
unchanged from the previous model year.
5.04 -> The middle child of Buick's SUV lineup,
the Envision has been designed to offer a
9.9 -> premium feel at a mid-premium price. In
some ways it lives up to that billing,
14.1 -> but a mediocre powertrain and a wealth of
worthy competitors make its job difficult.
18.9 -> The 2023 Buick Envision sticks with
a single engine choice. The 2.0-liter
24.36 -> turbocharged inline-four produces
228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque,
30.36 -> which is on the low end for the class. When we
tested a front-wheel drive Envision in 2021,
35.22 -> the 0-60 sprint took 7.1 seconds, and
7.5 seconds in an all-wheel drive model.
40.92 -> The nine-speed automatic transmission is usually
smooth and makes the best of the available power.
46.74 -> Fuel economy sits at 23/31 mpg city/hwy with
front-wheel drive, or 22/29 with all-wheel
54.3 -> drive. Although those numbers are on par
with or better than some of its rival SUVs
58.56 -> with similar powertrains, the Envision isn't
available with a fuel-sipping hybrid option.
63.36 -> The IIHS has yet to test the latest Envision,
65.58 -> but the NHTSA bestowed it with a five-star
overall rating. Last year's Envision earned
71.04 -> perfect scores in every category except the
rollover test, where it scored four stars.
75.6 -> Standard safety features for the 2023 Envision
include automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitors,
81.18 -> lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency
braking at up to 50 mph. Adaptive cruise control,
87.24 -> a surround-view camera, and high-speed automatic
emergency braking are available at extra cost.
93.24 -> The base Envision Preferred starts with an
8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless
97.74 -> Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Essence trims add a 10.2-inch touchscreen,
103.14 -> an 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster, and a slightly
improved sound system. Top-spec Avenir models get
109.44 -> Bose sound, navigation, a head-up display, a
rearview mirror camera, and wireless charging.
