We’ve seen some incredible TVs in 2022. Including the Sony A95K, Samsung S95B, LG G2 and C2 OLEDS. But which is the best TV? These are my favourite TVs for movies, gaming and the best all rounder.
There isn’t a ‘one TV fits all’ TV out there, which is why these are MY favourites and the best for me. Do you agree, if not, which TVs would you pick for each category?

0 -> Hello everyone it's SpawnPoiint and today we're
taking a look at some of the best TVs that we've
3.96 -> seen in 2022 now although 2023 and CES is just
around the corner we won't see any of those new
9.6 -> models in the shops for at least another four
to five months so that means the 2022 models
14.04 -> will still be the current and best ones to buy
and over the last seven months we have seen some
18.18 -> incredible new releases including the LG G2
and C2 Sony's a95k and Samsung's s95b but the
25.62 -> question I keep getting asked is which is the best
TV or my favorite TV from 2022 so that's what I'm
31.62 -> going to answer today I'll highlight each TV's
main features their pros and cons and then talk
36 -> about the best TVs for movies gaming and the best
all-rounder and before we jump in I just wanted to
41.34 -> say a massive thank you for your support this year
it still blows my mind how many of you watch like
46.2 -> and comment every week I obviously could not do
this without you so have an awesome new year and
50.76 -> I hope you had a great holiday season as well and
all the best for 2023 right let's start off with
55.56 -> possibly the most hyped TV this year and that's
the Sony a95k with their first cutie Ola TV it's
61.92 -> a 4K screen that combines both OLED and quantum
dot giving us this incredible picture quality
66.66 -> brightness and contrast it supports up to 1 000
nits Peak brightness HDR 10 hlg and Dolby Vision
72.84 -> as well as HDMI 2.1 for gaming so that includes
a vrr 120 hertz and a llm of course as it's an
80.16 -> OLED we also get those incredible black levels
and viewing angles as well now the model that
84.48 -> I have here is the 65 inch version but it's also
available in 55 inches although no other sizes are
89.7 -> currently available it also has a huge and heavy
tabletop stand that can be placed either in front
94.26 -> of or behind the TV then there's a Samsung s95b
one of this year's first QD oleds now what this
100.62 -> offers over the a95k is the fact that it is a lot
brighter this maxes out at 1 500 nits which means
106.86 -> having them side by side is really noticeable
in fact I had to reduce the brightness of the
111.06 -> Samsung so I could film the two of them together
now although it's a lot brighter and the colors
115.02 -> appear more vibrant there were times I felt
the TV was unnaturally Vivid skin tones feel
119.58 -> a little off like it was trying too hard whereas
the a95k feels a lot more natural on the colors
124.8 -> the s95b then offers hdr10 as well as HDR 10
plus but unfortunately it does not offer Dolby
130.92 -> Vision it then has HDMI 2.1 support for gaming
so again vrr 120 hertz and a llm and the size
138.12 -> of here once again is the 65 inch version but
it's also available in 55 inches but no other
143.4 -> sizes as of yet now every year LG brings out
a new OLED that's a slight Improvement on the
148.8 -> previous model maybe a new UI a faster processor
or increased brightness so consistently they are
154.02 -> great TVs that rarely disappoint the LG C2 has
4K HDR HDMI 2.1 vrr and Alm as well as support
162.6 -> for Dolby vision and a game Optimizer mode and
this year we finally saw the addition of a 42
167.34 -> inch model which will be popular for those desk
setups and although this is technically a TV
171.66 -> it can be used as a monitor for both gaming and
productivity now unfortunately there are not any
176.1 -> USBC or Thunderbolt Port so you will need to use
HDMI instead it will also comes in at 48" 55" 65"
182.88 -> 77" and 83 inches so a huge selection of sizes to
choose from then there's the G2 model which is a
189.06 -> marginally better version over the C2 it offers
a picture frame design that is ideal for wall
193.26 -> mounting and a slightly brighter screen but if
you were on the fence between either of these two
197.52 -> models I would go for the C2 for value for money
you're getting 99 of the same TV plus a tabletop
203.16 -> stand but if you are exclusively warm internet and
you want the better looking TV the g2 is stunning
208.62 -> well when it comes to the picture quality on these
they will all blow you away with just how good
212.7 -> they look they are all bright with Incredible
Clarity viewing angles and colors but as we
217.26 -> are comparing them side by side let's be honest
here for brightness the a95k and the C2 and g2s
222.54 -> are very similar the Sony is slightly brighter but
not by much the Samsung though this is on a whole
227.58 -> different level it is really really bright and it
makes the others look pretty dim by comparison if
232.56 -> you need the brightest OLED in your room and
you've got a ton of natural light coming in or
236.28 -> Windows this is the one to go for then there's the
colors and the color reproduct action for me the
241.02 -> Sony is without doubt the best out of the box the
colors look the most accurate and natural without
245.76 -> looking over the top the LG is a close second
here although the colors aren't quite as deep
250.14 -> compared to the a95k but that's down to the fact
that it's a traditional OLED versus a QD OLED and
255.48 -> then there's the Samson now although it's bright
I feel the colors are somewhat exaggerated there
259.62 -> are certain situations where I feel the colors
are a little bit too vibrant or even too orange
263.34 -> and red compared to the others now of course this
could be down to the way that the TV is set up I
267.54 -> have tried to match them side by side and as
for the black levels they all look incredible
271.8 -> they all have a glossy OLED screen so there's
no compromise on contrast or black levels the
276.3 -> blacks really do look jet black the Sony overall
looks the best at handle in the darker scenes as
280.98 -> by comparison the algae and Samson suffer slightly
from Black Crush and that's where the details in
285.72 -> the black levels are almost lost entirely the
Sony can have an issue with rage blacks if you
290.34 -> keep the ambient mode on so make sure you switch
that off straight away so we've talked about the
294.48 -> brightness colors and overall image quality but
how do they look for movies well the LG G2 C2
299.7 -> and the Sony a95k have all got one thing in common
and that's hdr10 and Dolby Vision support So any
306 -> movie or series you watch that supports this looks
really good everything is sharp detailed and has
310.8 -> incredible picture quality some would argue that
Dolby vision is the better format for Ultra HD
315.54 -> content the Samsung s95b on the other hand doesn't
support Dolby Vision but this isn't limited to
320.58 -> just this TV it's Samsung TVs in general however
the s95b does support hdr10 as well as HDR 10 plus
327.9 -> which isn't supported for the Sony and the LGs
but when it comes to watching movies in general
332.28 -> whether it's SDR or HDR you cannot go wrong with
any of these TVs combining the perfect black
337.62 -> levels the bright highlights and Vivid colors
everything pops on screen but watching an OLED
342.12 -> in a dark room or at night shows just how awesome
those Inky black levels really are and watch them
346.8 -> side by side the Samsung definitely looks a lot
brighter again but in terms of the overall picture
351 -> quality the a95k does look in my opinion that
little bit better and as with any OLED you're
356.46 -> going to suffer a little bit from motion judder
but generally speaking all three three of these
360.3 -> handle it really really well and I would have no
trouble in recommending any of these three TVs
364.68 -> for movies so gaming for me is a huge deciding
factor in any TV and that's because I alternate
370.14 -> between my desk setup and my TV setup depending
on the type of game that I'm playing so anything
374.46 -> story driven or even racing games I'll often play
on here and it's probably no surprise that these
379.26 -> oleds all look great for the PlayStation 5 and
the Xbox series X from Spider-Man to Gran Turismo
384.6 -> Forza and Ratchet and Clank and from an overall
gaming point of view you're going to get a very
388.74 -> similar experience on each of these they offer the
same black levels HDMI 2.1 support near infinite
394.38 -> contrast and Brilliant motion handling but there
are a few features that set them apart from one
398.4 -> another so first we have the connectivity now they
all offer HDMI 2.1 support for the PlayStation 5
404.16 -> and Xbox series X that means they are all capable
of 4K and 120 hertz both the LG and Samsung have
410.7 -> four HDMI 2.1 ports which is awesome for hooking
up multiple consoles and an AVR the Sony though
415.92 -> only has two ports and one of these are reserved
for e-arc so if you were to plug in in a sound
420.42 -> bar for example you would only be left with one
HDMI 2.1 Port of course if you are using an AVR
425.82 -> you could run all of your devices through that
instead but for the majority of us if you have
429.72 -> a sound bar and two consoles you will struggle
with this TV and then we've got the menus or the
434.28 -> gaming UI which are completely different on each
the LG's have this awesome overlay that shows us
439.2 -> what frame rate the game is running at whether
vrr is enabled and a few other settings as well
443.7 -> the Samsung offers a very similar experience
with this menu overlay you can see things like
447.78 -> the picture modes or response time settings but
the Sony on the other hand doesn't have any kind
451.92 -> of gaming Focus menu at all so no FPS counter or
overlay while gaming I'm actually really surprised
457.02 -> by this but maybe it's something we'll see in
their 2023 TVs instead but there is a feature
461.82 -> that the a95k offers which the others don't and
that's the auto HDR tone mapping and for me this
466.98 -> is an awesome feature and quite possibly a game
changer so when you plug in your PlayStation 5
471.12 -> for the first time instead of running through
the HDR settings page and spending a few minutes
474.9 -> trying to optimize the picture the PlayStation
5 recognizes the TV and will do it automatically
479.52 -> it not only saves you some time but in theory it
gives you the best highlights and shadows for your
483.9 -> games which brings me onto HDR quality for me
the LG and the Sony are very similar there's no
489.24 -> blooming or raised blacks and the overall image
quality is really impressive there are a few
493.38 -> times however that the LG does suffer slightly
from Black Crush and that's where the detail in
497.52 -> the dark areas or scenes are very slightly lost
it's not something that I noticed until I saw
501.9 -> the TV side by side it is really minor but it's
definitely worth mentioning the highlights though
506.64 -> are nearly perfect on the LG in Sony but for my
testing so far are often Overexposed or blown
511.92 -> out on the Samsung I am on the latest update
which I understand we're supposed to fix this
515.94 -> issue but I'm not getting the result I would like
to have seen and as for the input lag well let's
519.9 -> face it that's pretty important if you're using
a TV for gaming but they are all rapid gaming at
524.88 -> 4K 60 or 4K 120 is going to be almost lag free
but here are the results anyway so the Samsung
530.46 -> analogies are very close while the Sony is
surprisingly slower but for 99 of the games
535.44 -> that you play this will not be noticeable but
if you want the fastest TV for Call of Duty for
539.46 -> example this could make a difference for me the
LG offers the better overall package for gaming
544.32 -> when you factor in the four ports the gaming menu
low input lag and of course the image quality but
549.18 -> if you want the brightest gaming TV for your
room the Samsung is by far the better choice
553.38 -> although of course the highlights do need sorting
out because it doesn't look quite as good as the
556.98 -> LG and as mentioned they all have a glossy screen
so Reflections could be a problem depending on if
562.26 -> you have Windows or lights in your room the a95k
and s95b do an incredible job of reducing those
567.72 -> Reflections and that's down to the fact that both
screens are incredibly dark with a really dark
571.8 -> tint like here I'm filming this during the day and
you can just about make out the rest of the room
575.7 -> behind me but it's when you compare it to the
LG OLED do you see the difference now don't get
579.54 -> me wrong the LG does a great job of reducing the
Reflections in the room but in those dark scenes
583.92 -> during the day you will struggle to see what's
on the screen and if you're placing the LG C2
588.12 -> or G2 near or opposite a window just be warned
it will act like a giant mirror well let's take
593.82 -> a quick look at the menus and the UI well the
a95k is running Google TV which for me is the
598.56 -> best looking UI out to the three it looks nice
with a large tile layout and it's really Snappy
602.88 -> I think from a user-friendly point of view you
know exactly where everything is as far as the
607.38 -> home screen and menus go it's actually enjoyable
to use I have said this before but it's got an
611.64 -> Apple TV vibe to it but better the LG offers a
nice tile format as well where all of the apps
616.92 -> can be rearranged in a horizontal line and then
you've got all of the trending shows and movies
620.52 -> underneath now this is our latest web OS which
we've seen for about the last two years but I'll
625.2 -> be honest it's pretty boring I know it's unlikely
but it would be great to see a whole new UI or Os
630.36 -> in 2023 and then there's these Samsung which
on First Impressions looks nice it's running
634.92 -> the latest Ties on OS so it's clean and user
friendly but it's definitely the slowest out
639.18 -> of the three TVs sometimes it can get quite
frustrating navigating around as it seems to
643.86 -> hang and crash quite a lot but all three offer the
same apps you would most likely use so things like
648.54 -> Netflix Apple TV Prime and Disney plus now you're
not really going to buy a TV based on the remote
654 -> control alone but here they are side by side so
the LG remotes have looked very similar for the
658.44 -> last five to six years a few minor tweaks it's
called the magic wand feature that lets you wave
662.7 -> the remote around and select what's on screen
is probably the most useful unbalanced remote
666.24 -> control out of the three and then we've got the
Sony remote control so it now ships with a new
670.32 -> metal remote which is the nicest that I've seen
it feels like a premium product with some decent
674.4 -> weights and buttons there's not really much else
you need from a Slimline remote mine did also
679.02 -> come with this remote as well but I'm not sure
if this is country specific but it gives us a
682.86 -> few more controls that you might need that you
don't get from the Slimmer version then we've
686.52 -> got the Samsung which also ships with two remotes
you've got the full fat version with every button
690.72 -> you could possibly need and then this Slimline
option which is limited to a handful of buttons
694.68 -> the only one that I think is missing is it should
have included the source button you could swap
698.46 -> between the different inputs on your TV now I've
talked about almost every feature of these TVs
703.26 -> but I wanted to briefly mention the build quality
in the overall design now the LG C2 has an ultra
708.18 -> thin frame on the top and a virtually borderless
bezels and a metal stand on the front Everything
712.56 -> feels solid and well made plus it looks nice the
G2 is a little bit thicker overall but it doesn't
717.42 -> come with a stand but this is designed to be wall
mounted the Sony then comes with a huge tabletop
722.04 -> stand which is incredibly heavy far heavy than
it looks and the same goes for the TV that extra
726.84 -> weight does make it feel like a premium product
as it doesn't feel flimsy or like it will break
731.16 -> in your hands and the Stander that sits on where
you'll either love or hate this as it is designed
735.36 -> to lean back quite a lot and you'll also need
a TV unit that's large enough to take the full
739.32 -> width of the stand then the Samsung has a totally
different look with the raised stand it gives the
743.76 -> appearance of a large monitor rather than a TV I
quite like this and also means there's room for
748.26 -> a sound bar underneath something that the Sony
cannot do but it is worth mentioning that mine
752.58 -> did come with a very slight Bend in the middle not
enough to bother me but something that was worth
756.78 -> mentioning and I'm also aware that a few of you in
the comments have mentioned exactly the same issue
761.34 -> and as for the price well these are the current
RRP and sell prices for the four different TVs
766.5 -> we've got the LG C2 LG G2 the Sony a95k and
Samsung's s95b like for like you can see a big
774.3 -> difference between the TVs but we are of course
comparing oleds to QD oleds but whether these TVs
779.64 -> are worth the price really comes down to if you
see value in the features that each of those offer
783.84 -> now I want to talk about what I think are the
best TVs in 2022 for movies gaming and the best
789.54 -> all-rounder first up we've got movers for me the
Sony a95k wins this it's got Dolby Vision support
795.72 -> incredible picture quality and the best natural
colors out of the lot there's also something about
799.98 -> this TV that just gives us the wow factor but if
you needed the brightest OLED panel the Samsung
804.66 -> s95b will blow you away it is noticeably brighter
than the others so if you're placing this opposite
810.6 -> a window or in a bright room the s95b will be
perfect for you and then there's gaming factoring
815.82 -> in the gaming menu available HDMI ports input lag
and picture quality the LG C2 and G2 wins hands
822.18 -> down for me they are the better choices for anyone
who wants a TV with the purpose of gaming on it
826.68 -> and then of course if you needed an OLED that was
42 inches or 48 or 77 or 83 you will only be able
832.92 -> to go for the C2 and out of all of these TVs which
do I think is the best value for money well that
838.08 -> has to go to the lgc2 it's the best feature-rich
TV that's also one of the cheapest and I think it
843.48 -> is the best TV of 2022. now of course there isn't
a perfect TV out there but what would you like to
849.24 -> see from the 2023 lineup that ticks all of the
boxes for me it's going to be something that
853.68 -> combines all of the features including a decent
OS four HDMI 2.1 ports and a low input lak as
859.44 -> well as increase brightness and the gaming Focus
Features maybe the a95k will launch with more
864.36 -> sizes and we'll see a 77 or even a 42 inch model
they could then increase the HDMI ports and add
869.94 -> a gaming UI and this could be the best TV of 2023
and there was CES just around the corner in early
875.88 -> January I'm sure we're going to see some great new
upgrades very very soon but let me know what you
880.56 -> think is the best TV from 2022 and if you drop
a "best OLED TV" in the comments I'll give you
886.02 -> a thumbs up for staying right till the end and
if you did enjoy today's video check out my a95k
890.58 -> video next thanks for watching please like sub and
follow me on Instagram and Twitter until next time
