Hello! Hope you’re just as excited as I am about my latest video, a review and demo of the Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat! You will absolutely love this fool-proof, versatile car seat!

When I was pregnant with my first child, one of the things I was most worried about was finding the perfect car seat for my new bundle of joy. After all, the hospital won’t even let you leave until you have one in the car. Watch for more on this amazing car seat!

The Chicco KeyFit 30

Rated the No. 1 infant car seat in America, this Chicco is a wonderful option for any new mom because not only is it very easy to use, it comes with some really awesome features. You won’t have to worry about your baby’s comfort with the great (and removable!) padding. Furthermore, the KeyFit 30’s five-point harness system ensures a nicely snug, safe baby during car rides.

In addition, this Chicco car seat adapts to most stroller frames for easy maneuverability outside of the car. Just attach the adapter, place the car seat into the frame, wait for the clicking sound, and voila! Your car seat has now turned into a stroller that you can bring anywhere, from the sidewalk to the store. Super simple! Chicco car seat installation is also very straightforward and snaps into place with many cars nowadays. If your car doesn’t have the latch system specific to infant car seats, the KeyFit 30 can stay tightly in place using the car’s seat belt.

11.1 -> Hi everybody. I’m Melissa. Welcome back to Cloudmom, so happy to be back at Albee
16.49 -> Baby. I’m talking about the Chicco Keyfit 30 Infant car seat. This is a very popular car seat.
22.939 -> It’s very easy to use. Here are some of the special features of this seat: whenever
28.029 -> I have a yellow button on the Chicco, it has a function. These two yellow levers here lower
36.989 -> the carrying handle. I’ve got another yellow lever here, which is what’s going to release
41.879 -> the car seat from my stroller when I’m carrying it on my stroller. I have wonderful padding
48.51 -> in this car seat, excellent for a small baby, for an infant. It’s removable. I have a
54.199 -> five-point harness system. This piece here, the chest clip, should be at armpit level.
62.089 -> And make sure, as I always say, that you consult your manual for all the specifics of the,
66.95 -> how this car seat should be used. But I’m just running through some of the main features.
70.229 -> When you want to loosen up your arm straps, you’re going to use this yellow lever here.
74.95 -> Okay. Now I’m going to show you guys how to attach this to the base of a stroller.
81.4 -> And the stroller I picked is the Bugaboo Bee. It has an adaptor that goes with the Bee.
88.78 -> Make sure that your adaptor is facing the right way. Infant car seats are always rear-facing,
93.91 -> but if you can’t get yours on the right way, you probably have your adaptor twisted
97.75 -> around. So this goes in like this. You get that nice clicking sound. And now I’m going
103.64 -> to show you guys how easy it is to clip on my car seat. You’re going to get the same
109.1 -> nice clicking sound. Duck. And I’m going to pick it up like this to make sure everything
113.31 -> is secure. Now I’m going to show you how to do the base. Now there’s two things I’m
117.95 -> going to go over with the base. Let me find my base. Okay got my base. And again I’m
126.24 -> going to say it again, this is a general demo and I want everybody to carefully review their
130.819 -> manual, because this is really important stuff. Okay. Two things I’m going to go over with
135.879 -> the base: the first one is the latch system. People really like the latch system on the Chicco.
141.219 -> They find it very easy to use, very simple. What you do first is you see here? There are
148.349 -> these compartments here. You loosen up on your latches by pulling up on this lever here,
154.689 -> and that gives you the flexibility to pull this out like this. I’m going to ungather
163.29 -> this. I’ve got it wrapped up here a little bit. So let me loosen these up on both sides.
169.37 -> I’m going to take them out of these little compartments where they are, get them ready
176.87 -> to go. Many cars now come with this latch system. Okay. So having the top of the latch
185.01 -> on the top, I snap it in right where it goes. I snap in the other latch right where it goes.
196.17 -> And I pull here, pressing down, pressing down. You want this to be as tight as possible.
204.42 -> That is the latch system, very simple. There is a green window here with a bubble that
210.299 -> should be in the middle. It’s not because this seat is not exactly like your average
214.159 -> car vehicle seat. Make sure that’s in place. Okay. When I want to undo my latches I press
220.099 -> down on these red buttons here. I can loosen up by the way. I press down on my red buttons
225.989 -> like that. And I place them right back where they were, in these little compartments on
233.469 -> the side to keep them out of the way. Trying to move this around so you guys can see everything,
238.34 -> like that. Okay? I can then pull up here just to get the tightness. I can wind this up like
243.999 -> this just to keep it neat. I fold it and I put it in this little compartment. Now I’m
252.299 -> going to do the seatbelt. As with any car seat install you’re going to pull this up
256.45 -> as much as you can, get rid of all the give, hold it tightly in your other hand. You’re
261.75 -> going to come up through here. You’re going to go down through there. And you’re going
268.37 -> to buckle in. Now what you want to do is you want to loosen up on the bottom and make sure
275.06 -> this is tight as possible by pulling down on the right. And then you’re going to push,
282.5 -> push, push, push, push. Push, push, push and get this as tight as possible into place.
287.55 -> Now Chicco has another interesting feature, which I’m going to show you guys here. There
291.669 -> are these little yellow pieces here and the upper part of your belt, let me push my stroller
299.539 -> out of the way, should go through those little yellow pieces. It’s an extra, it’s called
306.93 -> the "lock off," an extra safety precaution. Most cars are going to have a locking system
313.479 -> here. This seat does not, but most cars will. So again, make sure your bubble is in the
318.83 -> middle. Make sure this is tight. And try to move it and make sure it can’t move any
322.879 -> more than one inch in either direction. So those are the basics of the install when it
327.409 -> comes to this terrific car seat. We’re going to have a lot more information on the specs
331.65 -> of this car seat on our site, on Cloudmom.com. Thank you so much for watching, and I will
336.83 -> see you guys next time.
