0 -> this video is all about our review  on our car and our Caravan we will be
4.44 -> keeping the Ute so I thought I kept  in it with getting a I want a boat
9.72 -> would we recommend buying a Franklin nearly  because it has as high as higher than most
14.04 -> off-road fans now so have we got another spare  no we don't I was just going to say I recommended
40.14 -> hey guys welcome back to another episode we have  been on the road for 12 months now which is crazy
46.98 -> crazy uh but yeah we thought 12 months in it's Max  it feels like just yesterday we were driving out
55.14 -> of my mom and dad's house it kind of went slow  then all of a sudden it was 12 months it was
59.46 -> very fast though well that's when we got used to  it I think mad there was no way we were starving
63.78 -> at 12 months I don't think because no no anyway  this video is all about our review on our car and
70.56 -> our Caravan so the car is a 2021 Nissan Navara and  our Caravan is a 2022 Franklin core 215 which is a
77.64 -> triple bunk so let me just tell you right now that  we have paid for both of these things so we are
82.38 -> going to give you our full-on honest honest review  on no review yeah fully but this video is pretty
88.14 -> much him I don't really talk about cars and stuff  so I'm just going to give you my opinion when I
93.18 -> find fit but otherwise this is you babe this is  your video we've got a few things we'll go we'll
98.76 -> go through the Caravan first to start off with um  like Leah said it's a triple bunk uh it's classed
105 -> as a semi-off road and we've got roller rocker  suspension so no independent suspension here
111.06 -> um which must say has never stopped us anyway  yeah no we go anywhere and everywhere which is
115.26 -> fantastic yeah we just look and we're about to  do that'll be a another video for review after
122.64 -> the giveaway reckon all right so we're going to  start off with what's actually um what's broken
127.5 -> on the van in the last 12 months um sorry if  I'm looking down I've got to look at all my
131.52 -> notes um it's too much to remember he's a man he  can't remember stuff and once again like most of
137.22 -> our sit down videos there's flies everywhere all  right so what's what's broken in 12 months uh we
145.02 -> had our water pump um that that actually broke  like straight up not straight away it was like
149.52 -> two or at three months now maybe it was only  two months and our water pump actually broke
155.1 -> um luckily you had a spare one because you  no I went yeah we went and bought a spare
159.9 -> because I've seen a lot of um forums and on  the Franklin page that the water pumps that
164.82 -> come with them aren't the best so I was like  oh we'll get a spare and I reckon like three
169.02 -> weeks later that was it gone and I remember we  weren't anywhere that we could go buy one yeah
174.78 -> so lucky I bought us there and um that was  an easy enough job to change over to which
181.8 -> was which was even better um that was the  first thing that broke our second thing
186.72 -> we had out it's called I think it was called  the hot water pressure valve underneath the
192.24 -> van from my understanding yeah it controls your  water pressure going into your hot water system
197.76 -> um yeah just I don't know if it was our fault we  I actually I put no I think it was my fault this
204.66 -> time I put accidentally put our inline filter that  we thought it tanks would the wrong way like the
208.8 -> flow and all the charcoal inside went through  all the tanks and I think it clogged up the
213.66 -> valve because it was leaking um pulled it apart  but obviously and cleaned it out put it back on
219.36 -> but it always had like a little drip um coming  out and kept the pump going every now and then
225.18 -> the pump would go off so replace that and now  it's fine it's been going going good ever since
231.12 -> um what was next in our list yes if you can hear  the children Freddie's asleep but the kids were on
236.34 -> a we're on a pretty cool free Camp right now and  they are throwing rocks they've got a whole pile
241.2 -> there and they're throwing rocks into the water  so if you can hear them that's just that it's just
245.7 -> it's just our children life on the road all right  next thing we actually have broken on this is um
251.16 -> a couple of the handles on the drawers um they've  got the little clip that closes the drawers have
256.74 -> like a little plastic bit and it just there's  loads of different types you can get yeah we will
261.06 -> show you ours oh isn't it sure you push a button  in and you pull it open yeah it's just a bit when
265.14 -> it Clips in it's got like a little plastic thing  and I think corrugations they just broke off so I
270.3 -> think we've had three of them Break um and I've  got different ones now and put them on and they
275.1 -> seem to be going heaps better but um yeah I think  we broke through three of them have broken um our
282.18 -> wind die latches and the little window hydraulic  arms we've had I've put down eight of them brakes
287.4 -> so far the window latches up that bad because you  can just replace it the arm you've got to replace
293.94 -> the whole arm with the latch so it's always the  latch it brakes not the actual hydraulic arm bit
299.46 -> um and they some of them were Freddy I reckon two  of them are Freddy the little window latches are
303.54 -> the arms of all the arms were a bit Yeah I think  corrugations again as well they're the Moby cool
308.34 -> ones they're meant to be really good but yeah  so I haven't bought any more of the arms because
312.96 -> they're like 120 for a pair yeah so we'll just buy  them if we sell the Caravan if we sell the Caravan
319.2 -> I'll obviously fix it all up we've got we've got  two windows now that only half of the one side one
323.94 -> of the arm so the other side is just yeah empty  yeah so we'll have to fix them as well uh awning
331.26 -> latches this one's these one broke straight away  so where the awning goes back at the top there
336.48 -> and clips into the top they got like a little  latch it's an Aussie travel awning with a spring
340.62 -> I think the first one fell out oh first month  um and the second one we lost probably six
346.2 -> months later so we're running with none of these  latches for most of the time a long time because
350.28 -> we're over the West Coast it was something stupid  like 60 to post these little things over which was
355.02 -> kind of like 10 grams each or something yeah it  was like 15 to buy or and then sixty dollars to
360.54 -> ship and I was like nah but I was actually in um  memory at exmouth at the Caravan shop there which
365.22 -> the best car running small but has everything  everything had these latches um we bought like
371.7 -> fridge shells yeah that's one thing I didn't add  on our broken list was that so it was our fridge
376.02 -> shelves as well we broke them had it in yeah  that's we did put water bottles uh in the door and
382.32 -> the top shelf in the fridge in the fridge as well  had broken them but that was because I'd put like
386.46 -> heavy jars of garlic and interrogations that's  another thing that broke if you can when traveling
392.28 -> don't travel with water in the door or heavy stuff  in the fridge yeah she's just taking the stuff out
398.4 -> of your door yeah put light things on there if  you have to put something on on there but yeah we
402.06 -> made that mistake so I had I had cracked shells  for yeah and then we found them at that Caravan
406.38 -> shop too so xmath Caravan shop for water yeah  it's amazing uh what's the next thing all right
410.64 -> our bathroom tap isn't a big one it came loose  but why it sucked was the way they've done it
415.98 -> you need like a full extension deep socket which  I don't carry on me to get up in there um so that
423.42 -> was loose for quite a while um when we got the  caravan service they fixed it up which is good but
428.4 -> that was another thing that broke um recently we  just had our front door um hole handle broke on us
436.5 -> um which that comes down I think Freddy swinging  off it um and I've heard they're not you know
441.3 -> they're not the strongest things anyway but yeah  it was easy to replace um but yeah I think that
447.54 -> was easy after a few uh YouTube videos yeah it was  just for the barrel I couldn't get the barrel out
451.86 -> of the body the YouTube videos and tutorials  and um yeah yeah we fix a lot with um I had
459.6 -> one of the blinds like inside the blind um where  the retractable blind there's a little plastic
466.44 -> bit and it um actually broke so the blind popped  out and just retracted itself and um unretracted
473.28 -> itself sorry so I just had to go in there and do  a bit of a mod to try and get it going again and
478.38 -> it kind of worked I actually use it yeah you did  yeah and you screwed that on inside yeah I don't
483.9 -> know why they use plastic in some of these oh a  lot of stuff shouldn't be plastic yeah but then
488.1 -> again Mr heavy-handed over here that wasn't  me we're buying Freddie again he's a baby you
493.74 -> literally went like that with the blind to try  and open it tried to let open it and spun off
503.34 -> um and the last thing we got on the list here  we've just had obviously because of the rock
507.6 -> places we go um there's three screws on the  oven on the stove so we don't have an oven
513.54 -> um and there's I think there's three in the  microwave out of the whole van those are the
517.38 -> only six screws that keep coming always  come off um I loctid the microwave ones
523.8 -> but that lasted a while but now they've come  off but the stove ones I think the way they've
529.38 -> drilled it and put it in they've actually  missed the bench top so it's going like
533.28 -> under screwing under and just kind of grabbing so  it doesn't really do anything so when we've got
538.08 -> corrugations we open up the um over there just out  and we find if those screws come out all the way
545.64 -> um a little no it's the little igniter yes doesn't  work so you pretty much got to screw them back in
550.86 -> give it a bit of a tap and then a bit of a love  tap yeah and then this seems to work again it's
555.36 -> so annoying I love the whole Caravan yes but those  two six screws out of the whole van it's pretty
561.36 -> good especially where we take the car yeah we've  been a lot of corrugations so that is all that is
567.66 -> going wrong in 12 months that is all it's quite  a big list not really oh there's nothing there's
571.56 -> nothing huge on major which is great it's only  just like little I'd say the only thing would
575.1 -> be the water pump but luckily we had a spare with  us yeah um have we got another spare no we don't
579.66 -> I just got to say I recommended which I don't  haven't done yeah but first 12 months I think
584.82 -> that's pretty good considering the corrugations  we've done um and the camshafts we've been to
589.56 -> yeah which you know and hopefully we don't have  anything else to add to this list after the game
595.44 -> well we do we do I wouldn't say baby it but we do  I do take it easier when we're especially off-road
601.32 -> like we're in no hurry off-road I don't see the  point of hurrying anyway I went on a timeline so
606.36 -> what's the point of hurrying and breaking more  stuff no that's like when we did the Gib oh not
611.7 -> the Gib sorry the cape but then you have these  idiots that go right past you and we actually saw
617.1 -> someone once fly right past us and then they hit a  ditch they hit a washout and oh my God they might
623.22 -> have only been in a hybrid but I'm pretty sure it  got air like that right it's just like you don't
627.6 -> need to it's just it's ridiculous they're the  people that break stuff I mean we don't go like
632.52 -> slow but we just go slow enough where just  line up when you need to yeah I really need to
636.78 -> so yeah like we're not doing 10ks an hour on all  these dirt roads when we need to slow down we do
642.9 -> absolutely we just make sure we look after this  thing this is our home and um and you can tell
648.06 -> we've looked after it in 12 months even though  we've taken it to some crazy places yes you know
652.5 -> nothing stops us from going anywhere you can't  travel Australia not see crazy places yeah I'm
657.78 -> not staying in a caravan Park all the time yeah no  that's not for me all right uh so our next thing
663.84 -> I'm going to talk about is the upgrades we've done  to the van since we've since since we left I guess
670.44 -> um so what we've done we've upgraded our  batteries we now have we've got 200 amps
675.06 -> of lithium now that's helped heaps um we had we  did have two agms before which weren't bad but I
682.56 -> can definitely we can I think if we still have the  agms we'd be a lot lower on some days because you
688.26 -> can't yeah you only use half Your Capacity  and like I think even this morning because
692.94 -> pretty much from lunchtime we've got no sun here  so we woke up with like I know 40 this morning
697.98 -> I think we'd be empty if we had AGM still so that  was one starlink would be a problem yeah Starling
703.44 -> we've always got that going it's off now which  is good um all right I'll keep you honest good
707.22 -> video's gonna go for hours all right uh 2000 watt  inverter we put that in just to run coffee machine
712.38 -> microwave microwave toaster while we're off grid  which is pretty much just for styling now and
716.88 -> coffee microwave was more for when Freddie was a  baby because we hitting up his bottles and stuff
722.34 -> um we had to upgrade the system battery  system to be lithium compatible which was
727.86 -> just a couple of things we had to change  the Odyssey link um just stuff so I could
732.18 -> make put the app on my phone because I  couldn't change the profile to lithium on
737.4 -> um the screen we've got because it's a  basic screen so we had to change that
741.96 -> um we put in a DC to DC charger which also has  external solar because we run a blanket on the
747.9 -> outside if you didn't know this we've undersung  our axles if you've watched Cape York at the
753.36 -> very start we did um rip our legs off up there our  rear stabilizer legs four weeks into a brand new
760.62 -> Caravan yeah and you you were just beside yourself  that was just yeah I thought it was I thought it
766.98 -> was all alive oh the whole back end of the van  was going to fall off but it was just the legs
772.62 -> so yeah we ended up doing so when we went back to  the Gold Coast for our wedding we under slung the
778.2 -> axles and we did a spring upgrade um just got a  they've added an extra leaf spring or something
784.98 -> um something like that made it I don't know I  found it but given the height and yes the cape
789.9 -> was yeah for the ferry but even getting  in and out of some of the hip camps like
794.34 -> um you know properties and stuff the petrol  stations yeah it's uh Steep and we've I've
800.94 -> seen people scream you see on the road when you  go to these Outback Services all the scrape marks
805.08 -> on the road that's from everyone's load of hands  so that saved us even throughout just day to day
809.58 -> being on the road not just the cape or yeah yes  and for anyone asking the towing hasn't changed
816.6 -> um that toad is beautiful this van which is good  it's probably because it's lighter but people say
821.46 -> it is it because it's lifted up so high I think  it went up like I can't even know 107 mil and
826.62 -> the towing hasn't changed at all so we upgraded  our TV to a 32 inch smart TV yeah that was good
834.18 -> that was a good choice yeah uh we upgraded  bigger tires um after we did the axle flip
839.58 -> the tires on it were they looked funny because  they were just very small I'm sorry we got tires
844.8 -> bigger tires put on it all terrain tires uh we  installed Pockets inside the van um we've got
850.92 -> five of them four four of them that we came with  one big one and we bought four extra ones yeah
859.2 -> yeah I think Navigator make them for it they're  just the small pockets they fit in iPads books
863.94 -> um kids school books everything in really really  well and they have not budged I don't know what
868.98 -> glue they use in the back but they're yeah  they're very good velcro is very good too
874.74 -> um just for extra storage that one yeah uh  we added a jury holder and a rear bag on the
881.22 -> spare wheel on the back rear bag just I keep  all the hoses in there electrical cables and
887.1 -> then it becomes a bin bag when we're off grid  um we had a ATM and GTM upgrade on the van
892.56 -> um took it up to the most it can go um so that's  helped heaps because if you watched our weights
898.62 -> video we were overweight at the start yeah so we  had to change some things and we got that upgrade
904.62 -> done as well which has helped us heaps di35 hitch  yep wouldn't happen for itself yeah I wouldn't
911.28 -> have another hitch another upgrade you got the  sway controller put on when we bought the van um
917.52 -> that was an upgrade yeah just for safety peace of  mind it's there I don't I don't even know if it's
922.98 -> ever come on but I'm sure sure it has I just don't  feel it but I don't think we've ever released so
928.2 -> I think I felt it once and we're on a dirt road up  at the cape kind of felt like it did something but
933.48 -> USA with the amount of water as well it feels  different if it's empty if it's full yeah I
938.82 -> definitely prefer towing with full tanks yeah I  don't know what everyone else prefers but I feel
943.14 -> like the fan uh the van just feels better on the  road full tanks yeah um but like I said the taro's
948.66 -> awesome we've never had a drama with any swaying  or anything like that that's weird yeah touchwood
953.16 -> afterwards we added at 110 liter gray water tank  um we did that just so we can visit more national
958.8 -> parks because some places the Rangers can be  strict I was going to say when we got it done we
964.92 -> were like we got told cannot go there if I don't  have one because you will get checked we've never
970.5 -> got checked we haven't had friends get checked  though at some places and that's right they nearly
974.94 -> got in trouble because they lost a bit of water  on the ground and yeah so you just think we just
979.38 -> got it because we're trying to do the right  thing obviously yeah five Sirocco fans fitted
984 -> um two on our bed and uh one on each of the  bunks yes they probably see but oh my gosh they
989.7 -> are probably better yeah probably better not doing  it through the Caravan shop though because that's
993.84 -> what made it expensive actually got the Caravan  eight days before we left so we didn't have any
998.16 -> time to yes we did because it's in storage isn't  it for eight days yes there you go he doesn't even
1004.28 -> know what's going on we just had to get what  we needed to get done from the Caravan when we
1008.36 -> actually went in there and got it Caravan so we  didn't get a choice yeah plus then we didn't use
1012.8 -> the Caravan before we went on a trip so we didn't  know what to do what we needed or what we didn't
1017.6 -> need yeah recently I added a stone guard to the  front um we did that originally because we were
1023 -> going to do the Gib and then we backed out we  weren't going to do it again so I was like but
1027.74 -> we still had it which is good because these couple  rides it and now we're gonna do the give so gonna
1031.88 -> be good anyway uh and one of the latest mods that  I've done to it is the clothesline on the awning
1037.1 -> um amazing yeah a few of the friends we travel  they've had them for ages and I was like oh I'm
1041.12 -> gonna do it eventually and finally did it when we  were next hour yeah so we have it all smalls which
1045.26 -> are great for a couple of towels and whatnot  yeah but if you've done a lot if we don't want
1049.28 -> to get the clotheslines out we do actually we've  got two clotheslines if we get get to a caravan
1053.54 -> Park and we're there for one or two nights get  all of our washing done get it out on the two
1057.44 -> clotheslines and hopefully it dries within two  days but then the clothesline's really good if
1061.88 -> you are leaving the day of the Caravan Park it's  good for Tails good for good for towels but if
1066.74 -> you've got one load of washing you can do quickly  before you leave the Caravan Park and then at the
1071.12 -> next spot you don't have to get any washing lines  out you can just put it on the clothesline which I
1076.16 -> think is amazing yeah I should have done it ages  ago absolutely uh just uh I'm just going to talk
1080.9 -> about a couple of upgrades our van came with from  the factory when we bought it because we didn't I
1086.12 -> don't know if you've been watching really well we  might have said this but we didn't build the van
1090.38 -> um this we bought this off very very lucky it  was in the time where yeah everyone was saying
1095.84 -> 12 months for a van and we were like well I don't  want to pay second hand for the same price luckily
1100.58 -> well it's really bad someone's Finance someone's  Finance went through yeah it didn't fall didn't
1104.24 -> they felt they fell through couldn't come through  um and um they'd already made the Caravan for
1109.1 -> them with the upgrades they wanted so it wasn't  much like they had it had upgraded upholstery
1114.02 -> um it had a bike rack on the back um it's got  little awning arm in the middle it's an upgrade
1118.64 -> uh has the I think it's called recessed stovetop  so it's got like the wood that comes over the top
1123.68 -> so it's a bench space uh yeah all that was put  on before we got the van which is kind of good
1129.38 -> because all those things are probably really  amazing great things yeah the next thing I want
1134.12 -> to talk about oh my God it's my turn no is it  nah we'll go through what we would change if we
1139.64 -> if what we would change in this van if if we could  I'd want to upgrade the battery system um I'm not
1146.36 -> the biggest fan there's probably people out of the  heart I'm not the biggest fan of the BM Pro System
1151.76 -> um just maybe if it came out with the top of  the line system from being pro would be good
1156.44 -> but because the hours was a base model one it come  with the cheapest setup you could have and I've
1160.82 -> had to add stuff and it's just I just don't find  it that efficient so to speak so you know you're
1166.34 -> in a drive or you're red arched or you're victron  something like that would be awesome to have
1171.14 -> um obviously more solar on the roof we've got 300  on the roof at the moment and obviously more solar
1177.5 -> would be awesome and with that uh another probably  200 amps of battery power for international
1182.48 -> lithium seems to be the sweet spot for everyone  so I'd love to have that then we'd need the more
1187.46 -> panels on the roof anyway um with the inverter  so our inverter just goes to a double PowerPoint
1193.82 -> um I wish that went to the whole van just so  especially with Freddy because we've got like
1199.1 -> an extension later it's not it's not hard to  do or anything but this is another thing ready
1203.72 -> pulls on it so I wish that all that was wired  into the van absolutely amazing just to be able
1209.12 -> to put the plug in yeah but I mean it's not the  worst thing ever no it's not we could be without
1215.3 -> the inversion that's exactly right uh a double  step so like I said before with our actual flip
1221.3 -> a good one to show yeah we'll show you we'll  show you Queen getting up there that's even
1225.68 -> funnier even me yeah even Leah but because we've  lifted it um it's a bit High so when you're kind
1232.52 -> of setup and you've got to level your van up on  the step side it even makes it higher we did have
1237.44 -> a portable step we've had two now yeah both the  kids all jump on them the other one was a cheap
1243.44 -> one we're probably gonna have to get another  one because especially here it's very high and
1247.82 -> now Freddie like climbing in and out should just  show you yeah have a look show them quickly ready
1254.72 -> that's very hard and then it's the  getting down part as well gone granny
1260.78 -> oh I'd love to have instant hot water oh I see  people talking about instant hot water mainly
1267.14 -> because when you go for a shower and it's cold  at the start so it's hard not to waste that bit
1272.54 -> of water because it's so cold yeah so Leah lets it  run until it's hot so which is a good like that's
1278.78 -> not six seven no no it's not good it's a good six  or seven seconds yeah water you're wasting just
1284.48 -> because it's so cold which I've done it as well  now I just try to put it on my legs at least or
1289.1 -> something but it's so cold but yeah so instant hot  water would be good if we could uh and the last
1294.38 -> thing I've got here is a toolbox on the front with  obviously an extended drawer bar just for storage
1299.84 -> really because um I love the drawer we've got a  drawer on the front of our a ton of boots only
1304.76 -> half tunnel boot because on the other side is the  hot water system so it's not a full tunnel boot so
1310.4 -> for storage wise I'd love to have that toolbox in  the front just for extra storage pretty much we're
1315.86 -> going to go into three things we love about  the Caravan oh okay first I hear three things
1322.1 -> okay so my three things I absolutely love about  the Caravan obviously it's nothing battery
1326 -> related or solo related because that's just not  mine actually um oh really okay so mine are the
1332.3 -> inside color schemes so yes like we just said we  didn't actually get to choose our color scheme but
1336.74 -> I actually really love it um it's neutral it's  not too white and glary it's also not too dark
1342.02 -> for me I just like the the gray and the whites and  it just it actually is pretty good it feels clean
1348.14 -> it feels um it wouldn't be far of what we would  pick anyway absolutely another thing I love is
1354.38 -> the leather couch oh which is the upgrade that the  other previous Caravan owners did um but it's just
1361.82 -> amazing because I know what our kids are like even  bloody Parker he's nine years old and he drops
1366.56 -> food and it's just I'm forever cleaning that yes  I'm talking about you mate he's looking straight
1371.48 -> at me I'm forever cleaning up food like it's just  and if it was fabric would be horrendous I reckon
1377.18 -> so easy to wipe over isn't it oh and the third  thing is storage like we've got quite a bit of
1381.62 -> storage in our van for being a light van um we've  got under the bed under the chair two cupboards
1386.66 -> at the back got a big bathroom cupboard we've got  one at the top as well we've got there's cupboards
1391.82 -> everywhere there's cupboards absolutely everywhere  so which is great because you do not want to have
1396.02 -> things out and about in a caravan you want to have  it hidden and not seen three things I love now
1402.92 -> um I love that we've done the underslung axle  for our clearance I think that's been awesome
1408.86 -> um just we haven't had somewhere on the way to  point Bill the other day it was a steep incline
1413.24 -> and even the other family with us they had under  slung and even they said that our back was very
1417.92 -> close it was only dirt but still we didn't get it  done yeah I just it's more peace of mind because
1423.02 -> I had the legs rip off now for peace of mind  I know that nearly because it has as high as
1428.12 -> higher than most off-road fans now so yeah I  love that um I do love the pull out drawer on
1433.7 -> the front um for the tunnel boot it comes with  a drawer so I don't have to because it's only
1437.66 -> halfway I'd have to dig all the way through  I can't go from both sides um so I love that
1442.4 -> there's a drawer in there that can just pull  out and I can reach everything and my last
1446.54 -> one is actually how the van tows it just it's so  easy to tow this van um even so I've done it yeah
1453.62 -> yeah there you go but on the road it's just yeah  it's it's beautiful you know go past semi-trailer
1458.66 -> trucks it doesn't move so I love how it toes yeah  saying that it's the first Caravan I've ever told
1463.28 -> all right the last thing on the van we're going  to say is would we recommend buying a Franklin
1468.74 -> what do you reckon if you've if you've got weight  limitations with your car like we have definitely
1475.46 -> yeah the perfect car I've had seriously we have  had like we said we've only had small things go
1481.46 -> wrong but we take it to Crazy places corrugated  roads build quality is great very good yes I must
1487.46 -> say um yeah screws have come loose and that's  doing Cape York under data track yeah so many
1495.56 -> corrugated roads getting the campgrounds yeah um  and yeah six screws I reckon that's bloody pretty
1500.42 -> good yeah right they're made by concept concept  Caravan make Franklin so yeah hats off to them
1508.28 -> they've done a very good job I'd say and yeah you  know even if it's on the Franklin page everyone
1514.16 -> seems to have no drums with them so 100 would  recommend getting the Franklin if you especially
1518.9 -> if you're weight limited because like we were um  and you're actually a light fan yeah but after a
1523.82 -> live van definitely look at the Franklin range so  we'll just add on to the end here um I don't know
1529.88 -> if you've watched other videos but we are stopping  for a bit and then we're gonna go again so
1534.8 -> question is are we going to keep this van  for our next lap um we don't know we don't
1541.28 -> know we're going to see how we go but if we can  sell this one and buy another one in that time
1546.02 -> frame yeah from the time period when we want to  leave then so it probably will go out for sale
1552.74 -> um probably not for another six seven or eight  months yet but but saying that if nothing comes
1558.86 -> up for sale and we have to keep this we are  very happy to keep this yeah and do another
1563.84 -> lap in it we're not we just wanted something a  bit more off-road to give us a bit more peace
1567.8 -> of mind because we do take it to some places yeah  we've probably taken to places other people won't
1572 -> go yeah so but look yeah like I said if we if  nothing comes up and we don't sell it and buy
1577.16 -> another one in that time frame if working we  will happily take it around again so that's
1582.14 -> what's happening with the van but all right let's  go to the car I'll screw the car quickly we'll
1587.24 -> quickly talk about the cars not as much stuff yeah  it's gone on for too long already yeah 30 minutes
1592.28 -> all right the car it's Leia says the 2021 Nissan  Navara um I'll go straight into the upgrades that
1598.88 -> we've done so it's got Bull Bar roof rack that's  got an awning on there uh it's got a hard lid
1605 -> uh I've done air it's got a two inch lift kit  in it uh it's a long travel lift kit which is
1609.74 -> awesome for off-roading uh it's got airbags in the  rear um upgraded into cooler uh it's got a tune
1617.06 -> uh full 12 volt system redox system mud tires  on a bigger mud tires UHF and an aerial that's
1624.38 -> pretty much the mods that are done to the to the  Ute um you've seen from the start we did have a
1629.24 -> canopy on there once again got way too heavy so  we had to get rid of the canopy for the hard lid
1634.46 -> well it's the canopy or the fridge yeah it was a  canopy on the fridge that's just rude yeah no way
1640.94 -> mud's broken on the Ute in the last 12 months  uh recently the hard lid uh the hinges on it
1648.68 -> snapped all four of them that are on  there snaps now that really annoyed me
1652.76 -> um but I did buy cheap there you know I think  it was like 12 or 1500 bucks the good ones are
1659.3 -> about three grand so they say it all the time  poor man pays twice and I've just put somebody
1664.94 -> miter 10 hinges on it for now and yeah they seem  to be working uh we had one airbag leaked which
1671.84 -> got fixed for us that's not a biggie but um did  suck because one I couldn't tow with the airbags
1676.82 -> up for I think it was like one trip or something  which that's not too bad uh all right and recently
1681.86 -> I just we just had so the navaras have a problem  with their boost solenoids they're on the front
1686.24 -> of the motor and they get clogged up with dirt  dust all that stuff when you go forward driving
1691.4 -> um so I cleaned out the little filters and it  seems to be good now but I am going to get them
1697.46 -> replaced before we start the Gibb just in case  something happens um but yeah that's the three
1702.68 -> things that's all that's going wrong with the Ute  airbags hardly it broke and they do solenoid yeah
1708.32 -> but really that's they saw the Boost solenoids  that's the new but the other two things aren't
1714.08 -> even really yeah it's just accessories that have  added so it's done really well considering what we
1719.06 -> put it through it's not the van it is a forward  drive um and it's you know it's really good
1724.76 -> off-road um I can't say how good it is off-road  like we did Cape York High Country I don't have a
1729.86 -> winch didn't get stuck Flex is like crazy because  of the long travel kit um so yeah that's been
1736.46 -> awesome what would I change in the Ute um if I  could um I'd put a tray alloy tray and canopy on
1743.72 -> it a light setup I found setups out there that are  like 150 kilos lighter than what the tub is that's
1752.42 -> trying canopy easy in it yeah so that's that's  a lot of weight too when you people know about
1756.8 -> waste your caravaning yeah um the more weight you  can save the better um Tow Mirrors I'd get proper
1764.24 -> um Clear View tow mirrors for it because the other  ones you know they're good but they Rattle and
1769.64 -> they have actually cracked the top of the casings  not the actual mirror it's like the cases yeah of
1777.02 -> the actual it's just plastic it it's cracked out  a bit from band Titan down obviously so I'd get
1782.36 -> proper time errors um another small one decent  seat covers I'd get there and we we had no I had
1789.38 -> cheap Keaton Kingsman when we left got rid of them  bought ones that actually fit a Navara just from
1793.94 -> uh auto shop but they don't have they don't even  stay on they're velcro they're not that good so
1800.42 -> I'd get decent ones from you know ARB or somewhere  like that another thing with the car I'd change it
1805.4 -> that's in there is just change the front spring  suspension so I had my lift I did the lift before
1811.04 -> we even we're going to go traveling so I actually  bought it secondhand so the spring rate in the
1817.34 -> front is just it's a bit stiff and heavy so I'd  like it a bit lighter but other than that that's
1822.14 -> that's all I'd change in the Ute really um the big  one there would be the tray just saving weight uh
1827.9 -> it brings us to our you know final questions  on the Ute really nice to say here this is all
1833.72 -> I mean I'm just here for show guys it's okay um  hasn't these are just general questions I found
1840.68 -> other people like to know so thought I'd add them  in there hasn't been a good Tire vehicle uh 100
1846.74 -> um for what we tow definitely yeah with  the tune I'd say this would be the most
1851.54 -> um I'd want to tow with it yeah so for a lighter  van 100 um perfect tow vehicle um has been a
1858.14 -> good four-wheel drive yes awesome it's really  good off-road um I've owned y61 patrols which
1864.86 -> are just ridiculous off-road and I was very  surprised at how good this thing is off-road
1869.54 -> um the auto is just there Auto's awesome  as well uh would I recommend buying one 100
1876.14 -> um like I said not for a heavier van I wouldn't um  under that three ton markers yeah maximum depends
1883.34 -> how many kids you I suppose and what gear you take  but maximum three tonne I wouldn't try pushing any
1887.3 -> more than that it is only a small motor at the end  of the day there are 2.3 liter twin turbo but yeah
1893.36 -> I'd recommend mine one for sure fuel consumption  we're averaging about 16 liters per hundred or
1900.8 -> just over um that's Towing yeah yeah I don't even  know what it is not Towing we don't we don't knock
1905.96 -> time with it you gotta reset it usually let me  take the van if you can reset it to see it but I
1910.7 -> don't ever touch it I'll just leave it on because  we're tired most of the time but I think that's
1914.3 -> pretty good 16 liters 100 is pretty yeah it's  really good they're the worst we've seen come here
1919.82 -> I think was down up and down the hills it might  have been in NT I think got up to 18 or nearly 19
1924.5 -> or 18 I think it was and that's still pretty good  last question all right so last question I've got
1929.72 -> here is like the van we'll be keeping the ute  and I'm going to say we probably won't be no
1940.94 -> we think oh what yeah it's our  weights are right on and I want a boat
1948.2 -> so I thought I kept him happy with getting  a kayak and apparently not so well we've
1954.56 -> got friends who've got boats and he can  he's just seen obviously it's just it's
1958.28 -> just easier now we've done the uh back  yeah now we've done a lap without a boat
1963.86 -> um yeah I want a boat now and to have a  boat for our weights we need to change yeah
1970.94 -> um yeah and we're right on our limits and even  with the van so and then that comes back to swap
1977.24 -> it changing the van so because we're changing the  car um which we'll probably do first I'd say We'll
1983.12 -> change the car then we know what weights then  we'll work out our weights because we don't wanna
1987.2 -> even if we get an off more of an off-road van  which still I don't want a 3500 well we don't
1992.54 -> know no well you don't need it for one no um  and two it's just too heavy I don't want to be
1997.1 -> maxed out on that as well even though we'll have  everything I don't want to Max it out again no
2001.3 -> um so we're still up in the air what vehicle we  want to get it will be second hand he literally
2012.64 -> got to do your research like you guys you  buy new cars new things and the day after
2018.58 -> you're looking at the next new one new current  ages yeah but you look at them all the time
2023.62 -> you buy one and then you go oh let's  what's the next one gosh but yeah so I
2029.26 -> can't just be him for sure there's other guys  out there constantly looking at something new
2034.78 -> it's just what we need to travel it's all  about the upgrade isn't it um so yeah so for
2041.92 -> anyone watching though um I've got a little list  that's kind of a big list actually so vehicle wise
2049.18 -> um be good to get some help in the comments  um we're gonna go secondhand so it's going
2053.62 -> to have high bit higher kilometers um I'm not  looking to spend a fortune um so second hand wise
2060.88 -> you got 200 series Landcruiser diesel or petrol 70  Series 79 or 76 y62 Patrol obviously that's going
2071.2 -> to be the more expensive one because they're  lower case um and 100 series Landcruiser so
2076.36 -> they're they're pretty much the options at the  moment that I'm looking at but yeah it'll just
2082.84 -> come down to what's available at the time yeah and  so anyone in the comments owns those Vehicles can
2088.96 -> you know give us a bit more advice tell me yeah  tell me a fuel consumption tell me you know Towing
2094.84 -> wise are you happy with it do you recommend it I  I know straight away that the fuel consumption is
2099.52 -> going to be high with all these vehicles than what  we are now but be good to know what yeah good to
2104.68 -> know what they are but yeah so yeah let us know  about those Vehicles guys because yeah we will
2112.18 -> be changing Vehicles so yeah that's exciting it's  scary I don't really care yeah you won't even come
2118.24 -> in the boat so she don't care but yeah it will be  a boat there will be a boat watch this space uh
2124.18 -> anyway so round it all off would we recommend our  2021 Nissan Navara 100 absolutely yeah so both
2133.84 -> these things are what we're doing right now 100  yeah and I'll Caravan we'd 100 recommend if you're
2138.82 -> watching this and you haven't bought a van or  whatever and you're saying oh you need people say
2143.38 -> no you need off-road van you do not need off-road  you don't need an offer again just drive it to
2147.64 -> the conditions yeah that's that's just Our advice  don't don't go buy an on-road van and go flogging
2153.1 -> to Cape York or come on the Gib because I don't  know but just you know it's not gonna limit you
2160.06 -> yes you know you can literally take it we have not  we've not looked at somewhere and go oh we can't
2164.8 -> do that we just do it and we take it you know  we drive it slow we don't go four-wheel driving
2168.58 -> they're just dirt roads but they are corrugated  yeah sand some of the sand rounds are a little bit
2172.36 -> forward driving but yeah I don't think you need  the best of the best like I've said it before you
2178.24 -> do not need the best of the best to see some of  these amazing spots in Australia and we've shown
2181.78 -> that so roll The Rocker suspension don't even  have independent we're still going everywhere so
2186.1 -> that proves but then once again it comes down to  build quality yeah this has been awesome both in
2190.96 -> the car and the van yeah might sound funny because  we're saying they're awesome but we're getting rid
2195.1 -> of them but it's just it's the weights everyone  knows 100 we would own these two vehicles again
2203.26 -> if it's suited us yeah absolutely family's getting  bigger not another baby I just mean kids getting
2208.48 -> bigger but it might have sounded like it but  there's no babies I think what do you know that
2212.08 -> I don't know well then we can get a truck oh my  God the truck talks all right let's wrap this up
2220.42 -> okay I love the Caravan we love the car it's  been amazing um yeah wait this is all you oh
2230.02 -> sorry I dragged on anyway watch this space we  don't know what's happening with uh the car and
2234.34 -> Caravan yet but um you never know but um anyway  if anyone wants to buy a package deal hit me up
2240.88 -> make sure you like subscribe make sure  you comment as well with the cars that
2246.88 -> we've asked yeah so um please yeah advice  all right we'll see you next week [Music]
