0 -> Hi, I’m Carl from Abt and in this video,  I’m gonna give you a closer look at the
3.36 -> Q80B series 4K QLED from Samsung. This  is the step right below the mini LED,
8.96 -> Neo QLED models, but offers a lot of features for  the money. If you’re watching this on YouTube,
13.28 -> don’t forget to like and subscribe to stay  up to date on all our latest products, and
16.8 -> I’ll put a link down in the description  to our most current pricing for this one.
25.36 -> The Q80B has a simple design, with a thin, titan  black bezel surrounding the screen, and a center
31.44 -> mounted pedestal that allows it to fit on a  narrow entertainment stand and raises it high
35.2 -> enough to accommodate a soundbar. And for sizes,  it’s available in 50, 55, 65, 75 and 85 inches.
43.28 -> On the back are all the connections. The 55 inch  and larger sizes get 2 usbs, optical audio out,
49.04 -> ethernet, rs232c, antenna, and 4 hdmi 2.1s  with 4k/120 hertz and freesync compatibility.
57.68 -> The 50 inch version also gets 4 HDMIs, but since  it’s only a 60 hertz panel they won’t do 4k at 120
63.76 -> hertz or variable refresh rates. Finally, you get  WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connections.
70.08 -> As far as the remote goes, the Q80B series  comes with Samsung’s new solar cell remote that
74.72 -> charges with any light source so you don’t  have to worry about replacing any batteries.
78.48 -> It’s also got a USB-C port at the bottom to charge  more quickly if you happen to run out of power.
85.44 -> Audio on the Q80B is pretty decent  too. For the models 55 inches and
89.6 -> above you get a 2.2.2 channel  system with 60 watts of power,
94.08 -> object tracking sound, q-symphony, and  true Dolby Atmos audio. The 50 inch has
99.44 -> 2.2 channels and 40 watts with object tracking  sound lite. Everything else is the same though.
105.28 -> Moving on, we’ve got the smart features. The  Q80B uses Samsung’s Tizen operating system,
109.68 -> which got a facelift for 2022. Pressing the  home button on the remote brings up a full
114.48 -> screen that shows a row of your most used  apps along with several additional rows of
118.48 -> suggested content. It’s easy to navigate and  moving through the options is pretty smooth.
124.08 -> This works, of course, with  Samsung’s smart assistant Bixby, but
127.76 -> if you choose to, you can also use it with  Google assistant or Alexa, and Apple AirPlay.
132.96 -> Another great smart feature you get with the  Q80B is Samsung TV Plus. This gives you access
137.36 -> to over 150 free streaming channels, which is a  fantastic option for any cord cutters out there.
142.8 -> You also get MultiView which lets you put two  different sources on the screen at the same time.
147.76 -> If you have a compatible webcam,
149.04 -> you can even download the Google Duo app  and make video calls right on your TV.
162.08 -> Then we’ve got the picture. The  models 55 inches and up all get 4k,
166.4 -> 120 hertz panels with full array local  dimming. The exception is the 50 inch,
170.8 -> which gets a 4k 60 hertz panel, but the  backlight is still full array with local dimming.
175.84 -> And you get a really nice quality picture. It’s  not quite as good as what you’ll get on the Neo
180.48 -> QLED models, but for the price difference,  you won’t be disappointed. Colors all look
184.96 -> natural and well saturated, but black levels  aren’t quite as deep as you get on the Neo
190 -> QLEDs. Contrast is good enough to help provide  decent detail in HDR content, but this isn’t
195.12 -> necessarily the best TV to use in dark rooms  as the blacks have a little more gray to them
200.32 -> and light bloom is a little more noticeable  around bright objects. If you’re primarily
204.24 -> watching in the dark, you may want to consider  moving up to the QN85B series. That being said,
209.44 -> if you’re a casual viewer you’re unlikely  to find this to be much of a problem.
214.4 -> Motion is handled well making this a great  option for watching sports and movies,
218.72 -> as well as gaming. The viewing angles  are also pretty good for anyone not
222.24 -> sitting directly in front, and although  this doesn’t have an anti glare filter,
226.96 -> it does get bright enough to  perform nicely in a well lit room.
230.72 -> In this price range, the Q80B is a great  option to consider. Its colors are terrific,
235.44 -> motion is handled well, the audio quality is good  enough to use for movies, although I’d still look
240.08 -> into adding a soundbar, and the built in smart  features give you access to tons of free content.
245.36 -> Cinephiles may want to move up to the QN85B  series for those deeper black levels and better
250.24 -> light bloom handling, but for the casual  viewer looking for a great deal on a TV,
254.4 -> this is certainly one that should be on your list.
257.36 -> If you have any questions on the Q80B series from  Samsung, or any other TVs we carry here at Abt,
262.08 -> you can contact our experts 7 days a week by  phone, email, or through chat online. We’re always
267.12 -> happy to help. Thanks as always for watching,  and we’ll see you in the next one.
