We tested the top values in double strollers over the last ten months, and these are our picks.
After weeks of comparing all of the double strollers we could find reviews for or get our hands on, we bought three value-priced (but not cheap) strollers with different strengths.
These strollers aren’t the most luxurious you can get, but they’re a real step up from the entry-level competition, with the upgrades you need. Also, these strollers meet the new size limits imposed at Disney theme parks, and they’ll even fit in the trunk of a Corolla!
This video highlights what we found when testing the three best double strollers in our full review.
Update: since we shot this video and completed our long-term testing, Britax updated the B-Agile. The new B-Lively brings back car seat adaptors for Britax-made car seats, and the storage pouch is a little bit bigger. Otherwise, it’s the same great stroller.
We buy everything we test ourselves and don’t monetize these videos, but we get a commission from retailers if you buy through our links. Thanks for supporting honest reviews!
Best Overall, Best Handling: Britax - B-Agile [Note: 2019’s update, the B-Lively, is a minor improvement, bringing back the car seat adaptor.]
See it on Amazon: https://geni.us/BritaxBLively • The easiest to push around and maneuver—turns on a dime easily • Adjustable handlebar makes pushing easier if you’re tall or short • Square folded shape makes the best use of trunk space • Side-by-side type means no restrictions on legroom, but 31” width won’t fit through some doors • Britax only sells a car seat adapter for their own system
Best for Toddler and Newborn: Joovy - Caboose Too Ultralight
See it on Amazon: https://geni.us/joovy • Rear seat converts to a bench to accommodate growing kids • Front seat fully reclines and converts to hold a car seat • Less than 22 inches wide: easy to put in the trunk and get through doorways • Tight turns are tricky • Car seat cradle is strap-down only, not as convenient as a snap-in system
Best for Twins: Contours - Options Elite
See it on Amazon: https://geni.us/contours • Versatile seating options: Seats can be mounted forward or rear-facing, even facing each other • Adapters available to carry any car seat in both positions, with click-in adaptors for most brands • Good compromise between easy pushing and narrow width • Maneuverability is OK for the size, the large tires help smooth out bumps • Bulky when folded, but fits in a compact sedan trunk if you take the seats off
