3.25 -> Hello, I'm Calvin Jones with the Park Tool Company. In this video we're going to use the IR-1
9.629 -> Internal Cable Routing Kit to help route cables on this internally routed frame. Let's get started.
16.8 -> This kit speeds the internal frame routing on carbon fiber, titanium, and aluminum bikes.
22.54 -> The IR-1 will help route hydraulic brake line, shift housing, brake housing and liner,
28.78 -> shift and brake cables, and electronic wires.
32.72 -> The rubber adapter is used for electronic wires such as the Shimano E-tubes and the Campagnolo EPS wire.
39.64 -> The cable with a barbed adaptor is used for open-ended shift and brake housing, as well as hydraulic brake line.
46.64 -> Thread the barbed adaptor into the housing end to secure.
51.2 -> The cable with the straight tip is used to guide in housing or liners.
58.4 -> The straight tip guide cable has a negative polarity magnet marked with a white stripe,
63.08 -> used to help pull other guide cables through.
71.42 -> The strong guide magnet is used to route shift and brake cables as well as guide cables and their magnets,
77.4 -> helping to pull them around obstacles inside the frame.
81.8 -> In this carbon fiber frame, we need to route the cable into the top tube opening around the head tube
88.12 -> and out the lower opening near the bottom bracket. Due to sharp angles needed to route this cable,

101.28 -> Insert the positive magnet of the rubber adapter cable into the upper opening and find it with the guide magnet.
107.86 -> You will feel the magnetic pull.
110.88 -> Guide the cable magnet downward to the lower opening near the bottom bracket.
126.92 -> If you lose the cable magnet,
128.6 -> you can find it again by simply moving the guide magnet up the tube systematically.
140.64 -> Pull the guide cable magnet out of the lower opening.
148.72 -> Insert the electronic plug wire into the rubber adapter at the upper opening.
158 -> Feed the electronic wire through the frame as you pull out the guide cable.
170.22 -> This aluminum frame requires internal shift housing.
175.94 -> Insert the negative magnet of the straight tip cable into the lower housing opening.
182.68 -> Then insert the positive magnet of the barbed adaptor cable into the upper opening.
188.2 -> The two magnets will connect.
191.629 -> Now pull the straight tip cable downward.
201.04 -> Attach the housing to the barbed adapter.
209.6 -> Feed the housing through the upper opening, through the frame, guiding it down and out with the guide cable.
219.82 -> The rear disc brake on this bike has an internally routed hydraulic line.
224.44 -> The hydraulic line has a caliper fitting on one end.
227.88 -> This brake line is routed forward from the back of the bike toward the head tube.
233.66 -> Start by inserting the positive magnet of the barbed adapter cable into the rear-most opening.
238.93 -> Use the straight tip cable's negative magnet to pull it forward and out the next exit.
249.409 -> Repeat the process to move the barbed adapter cable out the down tube and out the front opening.
264.8 -> Attach the hydraulic line to the barbed adapter.
274.58 -> Using the barbed adapter cable, feed the brake line into the frame and out the front opening.
305.12 -> This bike has housing stops that do not permit the guide cable magnets to enter.
310.56 -> You can help route the bike's shift wire directly into the stop and then use the strong guide magnet
316.24 -> to help get it down and out the lower opening near the bottom bracket.
330.16 -> The IR-1, when used in all of its configurations, is very versatile in solving all your internal frame routing problems.
