.031 -> (smooth music)
.57 -> - Hi, I'm Agent Schroeder,
.04 -> and today, I'll show you how to use a photo printer
.3 -> and the HP Smart App.
.04 -> Here's what you'll need:
.43 -> The HP Smart app, already installed on your computer
.04 -> or smart device.
.56 -> A photo printer.
.25 -> A camera with a memory card.
.28 -> A USB cable.
.84 -> And some photo paper.
.47 -> I'll be using the HP ENVY Photo 7855,
.59 -> and a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone.
.74 -> The steps might be a little different
.22 -> depending on your devices.
.02 -> Also, if you need help with the initial setup,
.21 -> we've got you taken care of.
.54 -> We have another Tech Tips video
.05 -> on how to set up a wireless printer.
.87 -> There's a link in the notes below.
.53 -> Alright, let's get started.
.63 -> Put some photo paper into the tray.
.6 -> My printer can use large photo paper
.5 -> in the normal paper tray,
.98 -> and it has a special tray for smaller paper sizes,
.64 -> like standard 4 by 6's or 5 by 7's.
.78 -> Take note of the proper orientation for the paper.
.44 -> There are usually little icons, like this,
.58 -> to help you figure it out.
.56 -> This is important
.41 -> because photo paper has one side made for printing,
.86 -> and not all printers feed paper the same way.
.03 -> You don't want to accidentally print on the wrong side.
.23 -> When your paper is ready,
.29 -> printing photos directly from your phone or smart device
.72 -> is pretty simple using the HP Smart App.
.5 -> First, make sure your phone is on the same wifi network
.5 -> as your printer,
.21 -> and open the app.
.44 -> Tap on Print Photos,
.68 -> and choose the folder you'd like to print from.
.01 -> I'll choose My Photos,
.23 -> and then tap a photo,
.28 -> and then Print.
.25 -> For example, Under Layout, I can choose the tray to print
.31 -> by taping Paper,
.16 -> and then Source,
.01 -> the paper size, and the type of paper.
.99 -> Under Resize & Move, you can adjust the size
.44 -> and the position of the photo on the paper.
.8 -> You can even choose Manual to pinch and zoom the photo,
.49 -> like this.
.07 -> As you're making your selections,
.45 -> the app will show you the size of the photo
.34 -> and the size of the paper in the corner.
.09 -> Then, you can take a look at some of the basic functions.
.29 -> Under Rotate, you'll see options for flipping the image
.75 -> and changing its rotation.
.52 -> Copies will tell the printer how many copies to print.
.46 -> Color mode will allow you to choose
.02 -> whether you want the photo in color or black and white.
.83 -> Paper Size will give you more options
.7 -> about which tray to print from,
.21 -> and, of course, the paper size.
.78 -> Under More Options, you can access quality settings,
.4 -> borderless printing, and adjust the scale.
-> Under quality, I'll choose Best,
.73 -> because I want a high quality photo.
.98 -> Now tap the back arrow,
.8 -> go to the options screen, and then tap the printer icon
.82 -> to send the photo to the printer.
.85 -> And here's a tip: don't grab the photo right away.
.46 -> Instead, let it sit for a few seconds to dry
.92 -> so the ink doesn't smudge.
.4 -> Now, depending on your printer,
.14 -> you might also be able to print from a memory card,
.71 -> or right from your camera
.99 -> if you can connect it through a USB cable.
.35 -> My camera uses an SD card that's compatible with my printer,
.75 -> so let me show you how that works.
.89 -> First, locate the memory card slot
.03 -> or the USB port on your printer.
.69 -> For me, those are both on the left side behind this door.
.6 -> Insert the memory card into the slot,
.6 -> or connect the USB cable from the camera to the printer.
.19 -> The printer will detect the device,
.86 -> which can take a few seconds, and then present your options.
.69 -> On this HP ENVY, I'll tap Print Photos,
.11 -> and then View and Print.
.3 -> Select the photo or photos that you'd like to print,
.87 -> and then tap Continue.
.64 -> Make any adjustments that you'd like
.13 -> for the number of prints, paper size, cropping,
.51 -> and anything else your printer might have available for you.
.51 -> I can also tap the gear icon
.34 -> or the pencil for even more options.
.44 -> When you're ready, simply tap Continue.
.11 -> Review the image one more time, and tap Print.
.04 -> That's all there is to it!
.57 -> Hopefully, this video was helpful.
.1 -> If it was, give it a like.
.75 -> If you have any questions, leave them in the comments,
