Ford Mustang Mach-E stereo vs BADBADNOTGOOD [review]
Ford Mustang Mach-E stereo vs BADBADNOTGOOD [review]
How does the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E standard audio system sound? Pretty decent—but it could use more bass, midrange separation, and shielding from interference. Sorry about the buzzing, I’m refining my setup and will do my best to reduce audio interference and artifacts in the future!(!!)

1.68 -> Hey everyone! I'm Michael with May I Drive Your
Car! I'm here in the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach e with
8.64 -> the standard stereo and we're going to do a little
audio test with a song that I've heard dozens and
15.84 -> dozens of times. It's "Time Moves Slow" by Bad Bad
Not Good and Samuel T Herring from Future Islands.
23.94 -> I am streaming the audio from my phone
via Spotify and Apple CarPlay. On the car
32.16 -> stereo I've zeroed out all the EQs and I've made
everything as neutral and as factory stock as I
38.94 -> as I possibly could. What I'll do is start out at
full volume and see if the stereo can take it! So
48.48 -> without further adieu, here is "Time Moves Slow"
51.78 -> by Bad Bad Not Good and Samuel T
Herring in the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
56.76 -> [music: "Time Moves Slow" by Bad
Bad Not Good and Samuel T Herring]
86.28 -> Right off the bat, there's a weird
mid-frequency noise that's kind
89.88 -> of buzzing in the door—I'm going to
turn it down slightly and keep going…
93.68 -> [music: "Time Moves Slow" by Bad
Bad Not Good and Samuel T Herring]
189.96 -> I would wish for a little bit more separation
there between the vocals and the mid-range.
195.36 -> Samuel's voice was being just
drowned out there—hopefully
199.92 -> that comes across on the binaural microphones
202.44 -> [music: "Time Moves Slow" by Bad Bad Not Good
211.8 -> and Samuel T Herring]
300.18 -> Honestly, I wish for more
volume if that makes any sense!
305.4 -> It's just kind of muddled there in the mid-range
on this song. But it's one of those songs that,
311.82 -> you know, if you like it, you just want to
crank the volume and hear every single part of
316.98 -> the song! But it is just sort of kind of swimming
in its own its own juices there in the mid-range…
324.87 -> [music:
351.72 -> "Time Moves Slow" by Bad Bad
Not Good and Samuel T Herring]
378.3 -> Yeah, at the end there when the drums are
hitting, I just I want more of a gut punch,
388.86 -> you know? I'm really missing that like,
deep in the chest
396.12 -> Thump>> at the end of the song, because it
it really it really brings it home. I think
400.44 -> it really makes the song something special
when you're listening to it at high volume.
406.32 -> But otherwise it was decent. I think the Mach-E
handled it well, but again I would have liked
417.42 -> a little bit more clarity and a little bit more
separation between the channels especially when
422.46 -> you have a singer like Samuel Herring. His voice
is so deep, and I think a lot of systems end up,
432.42 -> you know, just…it's really, really tough to
get that separation when someone's voice is
440.22 -> sounding at the same same sort of frequencies
as some of the instruments in the song.
445.38 -> But otherwise, that is my audio review! That
was the reaction to hearing this song in the
451.92 -> Mach-E. If you enjoyed this content, please Like
and Subscribe! There are more audio reviews in
461.88 -> my playlists and on my channel. And please, in
the comments let me know which songs you'd like
466.62 -> me to tackle next—and which vehicles you'd
like me to to listen to them in! So, uh,
472.74 -> that's been it for me: I'm @ May I Drive Your
Car and my first car stereo test for YouTube.
