                    Content
.24 ->  today we're driving the new 2023 BMW i7
.319 -> this is the new electrified 7 Series
.34 -> shares all the body panels with the
.9 ->  regular 7 Series that's powered by an
.059 -> internal combustion engine but this is
.16 ->  fully electric it'll do 308 miles on a
.119 -> full charge on the 21 inch wheels on the
.4 ->  standard 19s it'll do 318 miles it has
.52 ->  536 horsepower dual motor all-wheel
.76 -> drive that is rear biased which is nice
.119 -> this costs 120 Grand starting MSRP as
.2 ->  tested we're at 152
.84 ->  000 a lot of options I'm not going to go
.54 -> through everything in this video but
.98 -> we'll list it in the description and you
.68 -> guys can peruse through the spec sheet
.719 -> the design here definitely isn't subtle
.46 -> and I think that was BMW's goal from the
.2 -> get-go this is probably about the best
-> looking 7 Series spec that I've seen
.219 -> thus far you can really spec these out
.219 -> to some crazy configurations with
.32 ->  two-tone paint and everything this is a
.539 -> little bit more understated and classy
.1 -> and I do like the 21 inch wheels all
.26 -> right so we're going to walk you around
.159 -> this today show you what it looks like
.36 -> inside it out we'll take it for a drive
.68 -> and I'll give you guys some thoughts on
.479 -> what it's been like to live with this
.82 ->  week
.26 ->  some notable features
.659 -> this has the BMW individual interior so
.119 -> it has the cashmere wool seats which are
.659 -> super baller we've got nice soft
.439 -> floor mats down there
.32 -> this interior is kind of similar to The
->  IX
.939 -> we get automatic opening and closing
.64 ->  doors
.34 -> and a whole lot of tech inside this BMW
->  i7
.799 -> so a lot of haptic buttons are actually
.38 -> they're not even really haptic buttons
.82 ->  they're just touch controls that make a
.979 -> little audible beep when you press them
.54 -> from opening the glove box to like we
.799 -> saw earlier opening and closing the
.659 ->  doors
.799 -> there's some cool party tricks you can
.899 -> open all the doors at once
.58 ->  look at that
.379 -> very cool you can open and close them
.319 ->  individually
.72 ->  all right
.739 -> kind of neat kind of pointless but
.14 ->  really really cool
.66 -> um let's see we've got some Drive modes
.7 -> driving assistance this has very cool
.16 -> driving assistance Tech we'll talk about
.72 -> that once we get on the road we've got a
.76 -> bunch of different Drive modes personal
.04 ->  sport
.14 -> I feel my bolsters tighten up a little
.879 ->  bit there
.72 -> ambient lighting integrated into the
.519 ->  crystal here
.56 ->  efficient
.72 -> and there are some really cool
.019 -> settings in here like the theater mode
.879 -> which we'll explore from the back seat
.44 -> this is also kind of the ultimate
.48 ->  chauffeur's car we've got plush head
.12 ->  cushions back there a 32 inch monitor
.36 -> which is pretty cool or maybe it's 31.3
.48 ->  I can't remember
.4 ->  um
.78 ->  just gloss Crystal
.659 -> screens everywhere in this interior this
.72 ->  massive two-spoke wheel
.18 -> um Bowers and Wilkins sound system
.459 -> yeah a lot of really neat features and
.4 -> stuff in this i7 let's walk around just
.56 -> a little bit more and we'll spend some
.459 -> more time in this front seat show you
.84 -> guys around that so there's multiple
.28 -> ways to open this door you can open it
.04 -> manually or yourself and it makes kind
.019 -> of a weird motor noise and there's also
.9 ->  actually
.58 ->  a physical latch down here that's very
.04 ->  well hidden
.9 -> or you can just press
.7 -> this button right here and the door will
.519 ->  open for you
.36 -> now closing the door you can either
.28 -> close it yourself or this has been a
.5 -> little bit finicky this week
.299 -> you can hold it and the door will
.28 -> automatically close now there are
.62 -> sensors all around the car that sense
.379 -> how far away the i7 is to other vehicles
.14 -> to other people so if I were to press
.06 -> this now and open the door it would stop
.16 -> right before it touched me
.38 -> and leave enough room for a vehicle or a
.079 -> person to pass through
.52 -> getting a little view of the tail lights
.08 ->  here
->  's your charge port
.28 -> it's going to charge at a max speed of
.52 -> 195 kilowatts which is pretty fast
.979 ->  10 to 80 percent in about 34 minutes
.32 ->  about 80 miles and 10 minutes
.8 ->  at a DC fast charger
.639 ->  no frunk in this i7
.82 -> just a massive big engine cover again
.639 ->  shared body panels with a 7 Series
.52 -> we get this massive Grille that is also
.86 -> illuminated and there are slats that
.38 -> will open and close depending on how
.52 -> much cooling the vehicle needs
.5 -> this also rides on air suspension it can
.18 -> raise up for added ground clearance
.3 ->  let's check out the trunk
.52 -> tiny trunk space back here
.1 -> only 11 cubic feet but there's some more
.8 -> room underneath which is nice
.82 -> probably can fit a set of golf clubs
.5 -> back there that's all you need to know
.759 -> okay let's get into the back seat this
.52 -> is where things get fun and exciting in
.699 ->  this i7
.979 -> just listen to how quiet it is in this
.5 -> interior pretty amazing stuff so you've
.68 -> got all of your controls right here
.699 -> for your back seat comfort
.44 ->  there's a center console which is just a
.6 ->  traditional center console you've got
.759 -> your climate dials or at least air vent
.58 -> dials but everything you control right
.46 -> here in this little display
.74 -> so we're going to turn our rear climate
.44 -> control on medium you can control your
.12 -> heated seats you get heated and
.5 -> ventilated seats we also get heated arm
.38 -> rests back here massage you can see
.62 -> there's some ambient lighting too you
.9 ->  can control audio
.36 -> blinds and of course the coolest feature
.38 ->  theater mode
.5 -> so all the blinds
.96 ->  rise
.699 -> making the back of this i7 as dark as
.8 ->  possible
.759 -> you can connect to 5G and basically have
.819 -> Amazon Fire TV you can watch Netflix
.44 ->  YouTube Hulu
.56 -> and unfortunately it's not connected to
.419 -> an account right now so we can't really
.86 -> do anything back here but it's cool to
.139 -> see and cool to show
.94 -> so we can fold that up there's also
.66 ->  a pretty cool recline mode
.979 -> so if we go into seats
.24 -> this is the lounge position engaging
.28 -> here takes its sweet time but this front
.22 -> seat or the front passenger seat
.72 -> basically goes all the way up to that
.639 ->  front windscreen
.479 -> there we go head rest is rising foot
.419 ->  rest
.44 ->  is coming out
.38 -> there we go and if you're a taller
.3 -> passenger than I am the foot rest will
.28 -> come in nice and handy but yeah pretty
.979 -> comfortable back here this feels good
.479 -> and then we have individual seating
.4 ->  adjustments
.259 -> there's rear massage in the back of this
.479 ->  i7 that's pretty wild
.3 -> seat climate controls we've shown you
.099 -> all that lots to explore in this car
.719 -> pretty cool experience from the back
.68 -> seat and a pretty cool experience
.899 -> from the driver's seat as well which we
.18 -> will show you here
.68 ->  in a few
.18 ->  all right let's
.519 -> put everything back to the way it was
.66 ->  let's take a moment just to appreciate
.58 -> this interior the build quality the fit
.86 -> the finish the materials
.04 -> cashmere seats the thick carpets I mean
.92 -> this i7 I think is doing Modern Luxury
.62 -> better than most these days the tech in
.2 -> here is it can be a little bit
.64 -> overwhelming but once you familiarize
.22 -> yourself with it it does get better and
.08 -> a lot of the settings in this i7 are
.7 -> kind of set it and forget it once you
.5 -> get into this car I think as an owner it
.32 -> would be a little bit easier to live
.519 -> with than it is for me over the course
.16 -> of a week and just kind of getting
.019 ->  familiarized with everything
.88 -> all right so let's step out
.959 -> and hop on the front seat we'll give you
.76 ->  one more look
.44 ->  at the i7's snoot
.14 -> this is such a massive Hood
.14 -> this really does have a lot of Road
.76 -> presence this thing is enormous it
.459 ->  weighs 6 000 pounds
.339 ->  536 horsepower
.899 ->  it's no slouch
.12 ->  only thing I don't like about these
.32 -> automatic doors is it's so much quicker
.42 -> and more convenient just to open and
.74 ->  close them yourself
.36 -> and when you do it makes this kind of
.8 ->  weird motor noise
.5 -> all right we'll show you around this
.459 ->  interior a bit more
.72 -> cup holders down here
.399 -> Wireless car play Android auto wireless
.26 ->  charging
.94 -> and you've got some iDrive controls
.86 -> right here you've got your Crystal
.14 -> selector and the controls are in a
.399 -> little bit different location than they
.72 -> are in a lot of other BMWs similar to
.519 -> The IX in here
.019 -> center console a couple USBC ports
.08 -> you've got your air vent direction right
.38 -> here at least that's not hidden in the
.76 ->  infotainment
.32 -> and then we've got our typical iDrive
.36 -> eight here which is really no different
.22 -> from any other modern BMW I don't love
.1 -> this system I wish we had more physical
.14 -> controls we do have a couple constant
->  controls though
.44 ->  with temperature
.36 -> and when you're in car play you have a
.279 -> constant home button which is nice
.2 ->  so I appreciate that
.12 ->  you also get a few
.519 -> shortcuts up here that you can select
.74 -> and customize I like leaving it on doors
.5 ->  and windows
.42 -> you can select driving settings
.24 -> we have iconic sounds turned on those
.64 -> were composed by Hans Zimmer which is
.56 ->  pretty cool
.12 -> all of your seat Comfort settings aside
.88 -> from just the basic functions up down
.98 -> forward back back rest they're all in
.399 -> the infotainment so you can control your
.779 -> head rest height lumbar everything
.7 -> massage you can raise the suspension
.459 -> with this button right here for added
.66 ->  ground clearance winter driving off-road
.64 -> Etc and you've got all these Drive modes
.279 ->  so personal
.72 ->  they'll change the ambient lighting
.5 -> it'll change whether the sun room
.12 -> sunroof is open or closed interesting
.36 -> thing about this is it folds forward
.959 ->  kind of a neat pattern
.94 -> on the roof there
.24 ->  sport mode
.04 -> that'll change the lighting in here
.36 ->  tighten those bolsters
.94 -> also when you get into this i7 it
.62 -> doesn't automatically start up when you
.18 -> get into it I wish it did you have to
.04 -> press the stop start button
.279 -> efficient mode will be completely silent
.2 -> and then there's some cool modes like
.18 ->  expressive
.04 ->  that turns on a massage
.8 ->  relax
.38 ->  that'll
.82 -> put all the shades and blinds open
.019 -> and then digital art which is pretty
.779 -> wild a lot of purple very cool display
.14 -> and it'll kind of show some digital art
.48 -> pieces here from an artist Quantum
.06 ->  Garden
.88 -> see we've got to turn off these
.899 -> massaging seats those are still going
.22 ->  strong
.399 ->  seat comfort
.779 -> massage off a lot of deep menus in this
.2 ->  i7
.42 -> they even have a menu for
.66 -> your following distance when you're on
.22 ->  the highway
.079 -> which is a bit strange so let's say you
.24 -> need to go and you want to follow
.74 -> someone a little bit closer or a little
.019 -> more farther away you have to go into
.18 -> distance control and it's about four or
.639 -> five different presses to select that so
.519 -> you're going to want to just select your
.32 -> preferred distance and stick to it I
.32 ->  guess
.16 -> that wish that could just be here on the
.899 ->  steering wheel
.579 -> this can park itself we have lots of
.04 ->  camera views
.079 ->  um
.8 -> you know the whole safety Suite
.32 -> it gets driving Assistance Plus which on
.8 -> the highway is pretty awesome we have a
.48 -> Bowers and Wilkin sound system which is
.22 ->  fantastic
.32 ->  let's see what else
.16 -> we fold down the rear screen with the
.66 ->  Press of a button there
.399 -> fold it back up
.32 -> ambient lighting settings so I guess
.06 -> there are a few quick access controls
.56 -> around here they're just kind of hidden
.42 ->  in some
.32 ->  different places uh let's see here let's
.68 ->  go
.54 ->  we want to
.279 -> to make all of the blinds
.22 -> and Blaze go up
.98 -> and you can't drive with this
.74 -> 31 inch display down without the rear
.74 -> blackout screen up for safety reasons so
.68 -> people behind you aren't watching TV and
.26 -> not paying attention to the road
.899 ->  okay I think I've pretty much got
.399 ->  everything how I want it let's go for a
.2 -> drive and see what this i7 is like on
.72 ->  the road
.36 -> steering is feather light in this thing
.12 -> and of course we get four wheel steer so
.16 -> it has a really good turning Circle
.3 -> setting off you get two driving settings
.36 -> with one pedal drive and regen so you
.42 ->  just get a regular Coast mode that's
.04 -> what it defaults to when you put in a
.54 -> drive or you pull back after you put it
.94 -> in drive and it goes into B which is a
.56 ->  one pedal drive that's how I've mostly
.42 -> been driving this i7 this week
.399 -> really nice tuning here with that system
.94 -> liftoff accelerator pedal and we get a
.519 ->  lot of Regen
.5 ->  [Music]
.139 -> pretty quick off the line especially in
.94 ->  sport mode
.82 ->  0 to 16 about four and a half seconds
.74 -> but really the most impressive thing
.3 -> about this i7 is just how
.94 -> uncomfortable and luxurious it is
.899 -> kind of a shame that it looks the way it
.94 -> does because this is just one of the
->  most amazing
.279 -> EV driving experiences on sale today
.94 -> this car is next level luxury from BMW I
.019 ->  think it's a much better execution than
.6 -> the eqs it drives a whole lot better
.74 ->  maintains
.72 -> a little bit of fun to drive factor it's
.44 ->  Rolls-Royce comfortable and quiet
.019 ->  let's put it into efficient mode that'll
.48 -> turn off all the Hans Zimmer noises
.519 ->  head-up display is gorgeous
.66 ->  [Music]
.16 ->  we'll go into sport
.88 ->  a lot of mechanical grip
.579 -> and a whole lot of power
.64 ->  let's engage cruise control here
.86 ->  assisted driving
.839 -> this little auto lane change for you you
.299 -> can switch into assist plus when you're
.919 ->  on a highway
.14 -> the lane changes are a little bit
.12 -> aggressive in typical BMW fashion and
.88 -> you do have to keep your hand on the
.959 -> wheel but as long as you're looking
.34 -> ahead Hands on the Wheel this thing will
.04 -> just run on its own forever
.039 -> incredibly quiet at speed on the highway
.46 -> and it's all very easy to deactivate at
.039 -> a moment's notice if you want to take
.24 ->  control
.2 -> so yes a lot of deep menus a lot of tech
.26 ->  but pretty good
.36 -> assisted driving Tech here too
.059 -> on the highway on longer trips this
.16 -> thing is insanely comfortable
.86 -> a couple of the quietness the luxury the
.9 -> comfort with the Bowers and Wilkins
.46 ->  sound system and you've got a pretty
.2 ->  cool recipe here
.75 ->  [Music]
.9 -> I love all the inputs in this i7 from
.299 -> the turn signal stock feel to the
.76 -> steering to the way the shifter feels
.1 -> when you pull back on it
.78 -> I wish there were some more physical
.46 -> controls on this instead of the kind of
.5 -> haptic buttons these are really
.84 -> difficult to see in broad daylight in
.64 -> the middle of the day there's a lot of
.44 ->  reflections
.059 -> so not the biggest fan of this kind of
.52 ->  crystal display here
.14 -> but at the end of the day it works and
-> if you own this car you'd be pretty
.38 ->  familiar with it
.179 ->  while we're sitting here let's just do a
.86 -> quick test of the Bowers and Wilkins
.26 ->  sound system
.9 ->  a volume controller down here
.4 ->  [Music]
.44 -> seats vibrate as well
.7 ->  [Music]
.22 ->  heard before
.84 ->  [Music]
.539 ->  oh
.62 ->  yeah
.77 ->  [Music]
.72 -> so the assist plus system get a little
.64 -> bit confused back there
.26 -> beeped at me to let me know it didn't
.059 -> really know what was going on so it's
.559 ->  not perfect
.059 -> but if you have good weather good
.2 -> conditions straight road not a lot of
.96 ->  traffic around you it's a really nice
.039 ->  system to use
-> I will say all the tech all the stuff
.919 -> going on this i7 is a little bit
.48 ->  overwhelming at first
.36 -> let's play the sport mode just a little
.86 -> bit more just because it sounds so cool
.12 ->  foreign
.039 -> brake pedal tuning is nice
.86 ->  no complaints there
.66 -> let's drive this and drive a little bit
.4 ->  turn off Regen
.38 ->  it'll just Coast
.299 ->  forever
.58 -> and it will have kind of situational
.1 -> awareness with its level of regenerative
.02 -> braking so if we're in drive and we're
.059 -> approaching a vehicle it will kind of
.039 -> automatically slow us down to match that
.799 ->  vehicle's speed which is nice
.2 -> otherwise though if no one's around you
.58 ->  it'll just Coast forever
.63 ->  [Music]
.419 -> that is a setting that you can turn on
.1 -> and off if you so choose
.14 ->  a size 7 is a very quick around town
.24 -> just instant on and off throttle
.299 ->  tons of torque
.24 -> dynamically this is a fantastic Eevee to
.84 ->  drive
.039 ->  kind of fun
.32 ->  super comfortable
.36 ->  expansion and
.74 -> efficient mode and pretty much any mode
.02 -> besides sport mode is almost boat-like
.5 ->  it's kind of floaty but it's
.62 ->  it's very cool
.02 ->  all right
.82 -> pretty good point to wrap things up here
.679 -> some final thoughts on the BMW i7
.659 ->  there's a lot to like here and I think a
.48 ->  lot to dislike
.34 -> I'm gonna let you guys be the judge of
.14 ->  how this thing looks and it's it's
.059 ->  Aesthetics
.74 ->  but
.12 ->  I I really don't know what BMW is doing
.24 -> with some of their designs these days
.179 -> otherwise this car is
.299 -> really really good mind-blowing in some
.78 ->  ways
.919 -> in other ways it's a little bit tedious
.9 ->  and
.52 -> too much in terms of tech it's a bit
.1 ->  overwhelming
.96 -> as a vehicle to drive and spend time in
.72 -> you really have to be familiar with your
.58 -> settings with what you want to do in
.799 -> this vehicle and there are some
.88 -> shortcuts and you can use BMW Voice or
.539 -> whatever it's called to talk to the car
.46 -> but I found that is just as frustrating
.62 -> and tedious as actually going in the
.419 -> menus if not more so and takes more time
.36 ->  so
.62 -> you have to kind of be aware that
.24 ->  there's a learning curve here
.34 -> and there are a lot of things to
.14 -> accomplish that are hidden pretty deep
.82 -> in menus but that's pretty typical for a
.58 -> lot of vehicles in this class right now
.32 -> and uh there are some physical quick
.38 -> access controls kind of interspersed
.539 -> throughout this interior I just wish we
.22 -> had more physical buttons and the
.02 -> organization of them was better done
.26 -> otherwise the Driving Experience here I
.84 -> really don't have many complaints about
.74 -> it this thing drives awesome I love the
.02 -> steering I love the the luxuriousness of
.84 -> this this feels like a really nice
.12 -> modern interpretation of what
.48 -> Rolls-Royce and Bentley and some of the
.82 -> really high-end luxury brands should be
.28 -> coming out with but haven't quite yet
.159 -> and at a price that is half if not a
.28 -> third or a quarter of what those Brands
.44 -> will probably charge at a hundred and
.36 -> fifty thousand dollars with a ton of
.76 ->  options
.84 -> this feels like a bargain compared to
.46 -> some of the really high-end competition
.76 -> so add in the electric powertrain the
.86 ->  quietness from that
.36 -> the ability to charge this pretty
.1 ->  quickly it's 300 plus mile range there's
.94 -> a lot to like here and um haven't driven
.48 -> all the competition yet but this BMW i7
.12 -> is a really really nice option if you
.299 -> can get past the looks
.9 -> so I think I'll end on that note
.539 -> pretty cool stuff here from BMW I really
.12 -> like the direction they're going with
.5 ->  their electric cars
.74 ->  we'll just do that
.84 -> he's kind of neat too has a nice weight
.58 ->  to it
.179 ->  yeah
.14 -> and like I said this week this car has
.419 -> just got a ton of attention
.9 -> people want to see inside
.6 -> they want to know what it is
.74 -> ambient lighting here is pretty cool too
.659 ->  so you can
.799 -> fold our sunroof back here we go
.38 -> we might drive this around just a little
->  bit more
.08 -> give you guys a taste of what this is
->  like
.38 ->  on town
.59 ->  [Music]
.1 ->  I feel like I'm sitting in a couch on
.159 -> these cashmere wool seats
.799 ->  thank you
.02 ->  everything's just effortless in this i7
.63 ->  [Music]
.58 -> I think BMW and Audi are doing the best
.02 -> job with electric vehicle noises between
.9 -> Hans Zimmer's compositions and BMWs and
.039 -> the kind of Tron noises that the Audi
.679 ->  stuff is making
.6 -> these things sound pretty cool
.02 ->  [Music]
.53 ->  [Music]
.18 ->  [Music]
.2 ->  [Music]
.2 -> headlight performance at night is pretty
->  impressive
.62 -> again a lot of those settings are in the
.32 ->  screen
.02 -> as far as Auto high beams Etc
.63 ->  [Music]
.659 -> steering returns beautifully back to
->  Center
.74 -> climate menu gets pretty deep and
.08 ->  complicated
.279 ->  but there's a lot of settings heated
.32 ->  steering wheel
.58 -> heated ventilated seats you can set all
.1 -> this to kind of automatically do its
.84 ->  thing
.22 -> I wish kind of I kind of wish the screen
.799 -> were a little bit bigger so you could
.24 -> multitask with some constant climate
.22 ->  settings
.24 -> but it is what it is
.11 ->  [Music]
.37 ->  [Music]
.899 ->  all right I think that's about all I
.52 -> wanted to show you guys
.84 -> thanks so much for watching appreciate
.76 -> you guys tuning in let me know if you
.5 -> have any questions in the comments
