3.639 -> What's up guys, this is Balazs from RacingBrick!
5.97 -> Yesterday you could see the 3 smaller sets from the 2021 Speed Champions lineup, if you
10.559 -> missed that video then I suggest to watch it by clicking on the link in the top right
13.69 -> corner.
14.71 -> Today I will show you the first of the bigger ones, this is the 76905 Ford GT Heritage Edition
20.71 -> and Bronco R set!
22.199 -> Okay, so if I see a LEGO set that has a Ford GT in Gulf livery and a Bronco I buy it, no
27.221 -> questions asked.
28.39 -> I'm sure you have similar feelings, so that was the review, enjoy your sets while stocks
32.489 -> last!
33.51 -> Joking aside, this is a real killer combination for me.
36.719 -> I know the cars have nothing to do with each other besides the Ford badge, but still totally
41.309 -> works.
42.309 -> On the front of the box you can see each vehicle speeding in its natural habitat, very cool!
47.07 -> On the back we get a sneak peek of their back view, some details and also 2 shots about
51.6 -> the real cars.
53.2 -> Let's open the box and check out the contents!
55.45 -> I still don't have official confirmation about the price, but the set should be available
59.34 -> from the 1st of June.
60.82 -> There're 5 numbered bags in the box, 2 sticker sheets and 2 manuals.
66.15 -> Interestingly the manuals are not numbered in this set, but based on the color scheme
69.69 -> of bags' content it is not that difficult to figure out that we'll start with the Bronco.
73.869 -> A few words about the Bronco R before we start the build - this race prototype was built
79.18 -> to compete at the Baja 1000 in 2020.
82.59 -> It had a stock powertrain but custom chassis, suspension and so on.
86.95 -> For us poor folks in Europe this is probably the only opportunity see a Ford Bronco in
91.89 -> almost real life, so let's start building!
93.95 -> The base is pretty massive, it's actually a full layer of bricks with some classic ones
99.27 -> in the middle and mostly headlight and other pieces on the sides.
103.079 -> Another unusual element on a Speed Champions set - we use standard Technic axles, although
107.73 -> unfortunately there's no working suspension at this scale - yet :)
111.88 -> The build is not that special or interesting so far until the end of bag 1, we have studs
116.75 -> everywhere.
117.94 -> The seats and the center console is place, we built a base for pretty much anything else.
123.61 -> Here is some brickception - a transparent headlight piece!
127.06 -> Did not see this one since the Volkswagen Transporter.
129.82 -> They are used to hold the big bold BRONCO-labeled grille at the front, it'll be interesting
134.79 -> to see what remains visible of the transparent pieces and what is their purpose.
139.8 -> After some additional pieces in the middle we start to build the side panels using some
143.62 -> neat SNOT techniques, it was actually quite a challenge to push it in place, as you can
148.379 -> see it on the other side.
150.54 -> Meanwhile I added the steering wheel and a bunch of other smaller pieces.
154.04 -> A slight issue with the grille section - it is very easy to knock it off during building,
159.3 -> it would have been a better choice to add it only at a later stage.
162.86 -> We are now at the end of bag 2 and as you can see there's a cool roll cage built along
166.86 -> with the A pillars.
168.69 -> Everything still flaps around, I wonder if this will be addressed or not going forward.
173.56 -> Here's a top view of the build that shows a bunch of stickers for the hood, and also
177.37 -> helps clarifying how the roll cage and A pillar elements should be aligned properly.
182.239 -> Actually there are extra pieces that help with the alignment - when I put this 1x4 plate
186.38 -> in place, that pushes the 2 central blue rods in the correct position.
191.15 -> The A pillars use those small black round pieces as stoppers to be at the correct position,
195.76 -> and the other two roll cage elements can be now adjusted accordingly.
199.909 -> Now comes the front bumper with some nice details, as you see it helps to keep the grille
203.86 -> section in place!
205.77 -> After finishing the front area now comes the rear section with the side panels.
210.02 -> The attachment technique is actually pretty clever and once it clicks in place the angle
214.2 -> is totally fixed.
216.14 -> Time to add the wheels and we also get 2 spares ones for the rear!
219.59 -> It is also wroth to note that we get the classic rims, fat tires and smaller wheel covers for
224.54 -> this build.
226.29 -> Interestingly we only get 4 wheel inserts so the spares ones will remain empty, or we
230.49 -> can use the other type for them.
232.44 -> Or probably better not, since the roof has an element that holds the spare wheel in place
236.41 -> and that is a pretty snug fit.
237.99 -> With the driver in place it's actually quite a challenge to put everything in place but
242.019 -> at the end it works!
243.53 -> So, here is the finished massive Bronco R!
246.72 -> It really looks fantastic from all angles, yes I am a Bronco fanboy but this thing is
251.15 -> beautiful!
252.48 -> The size is no illusion, this build stretches the new 8 stud Speed Champions standard since
257.34 -> the width is actually 9 studs, plus the wheels.
260.57 -> From the front you can see the purpose of the transparent pieces around the grille,
264.39 -> they represent the LED lights scattered on the real vehicle in a similar way.
269.01 -> This one is a pretty clever angled piece usage, using the minifigure posing stand that was
273.23 -> introduced last year.
275.18 -> The rear section looks also cool with the cage around the spare tires.
279.09 -> The number 2069 has two parts - 20 shows the race class where it was competing and 69 honoring
285.5 -> the year when its ancestor won the Mexican 1000.
289.34 -> The top is easy to remove, this way we can get access to the spare wheels and to the
293.56 -> cabin as well.
295.24 -> There's a sticker with some instruments and there are 2 simple seats, and of course the
299.2 -> roll cage I showed you previously.
300.76 -> The driver has a very cool printed torso with the Bronco logo, let me know in the comments
305.87 -> if you know where could I get a jacket like this one for myself.
309.36 -> The lady also has a black hairpiece to replace the helmet, unfortunately with that one she
314.28 -> does not really fit in the cabin.
316.56 -> I could only have 2 complaints about this set.
319.08 -> First, why is this not a Technic car?
321.55 -> The second is the lack of suspension, LEGO was already able to put a working suspension
325.99 -> in smaller Speed Champions cars, such as the Mini or the Ford Raptor.
331.01 -> A Baja-racer Bronco R should really deserve proper suspension.
334.08 -> Ok, time to switch to the Ford GT Heritage Edition!
337.56 -> This special edition was created in 2020 to commemorate the 1969 Le Mans winning Ford
343.52 -> GT40 with the iconic Gulf Oil livery.
346.96 -> That year the car had the number 6, there was also another Heritage Edition edition
350.95 -> with the number 9 the previous year because that was the number of the car in 1968.
354.88 -> The beginning of the build is quite conventional, the orange 2x4 bricks won't be visible going
360.94 -> forward but I guess they are a nod to the Gulf livery.
364.63 -> The rear bumper is a snug fit between those L shaped pieces.
368.61 -> This is how the build looks like at the end of bag 4.
371.3 -> A small part of the interior and most of the rear is finished.
375.903 -> That angled transparent engine cover is actually pretty clever, it can be moved around a little
379.97 -> bit without the surrounding pieces but once they go in place the whole section is rock
384.62 -> solid.
386.03 -> These are the hinges that will hold the angled side panels.
389.35 -> The interior also got more details with the seats and the sticker for the different instruments.
394.4 -> This train roof piece is not new, but I'm actually quite surprised that it was never
399.03 -> used in a Speed Champions set before, it can so obviously become a front spoiler.
404.66 -> Surprisingly the front headlights are not stickers, I guess LEGO did not want to make
408.52 -> the same mistake what they did with the Supra, as the stickers cannot stretch edge to edge
413.31 -> on the piece and look weird.
415.51 -> Instead of that mistake they made another one, here's an alignment issue on the small
419.59 -> piece.
420.59 -> It's such a shame, quality control should definitely catch these.
424.19 -> I was extremely lucky here since there's a spare printed piece in the bag, and that one
428.66 -> is a better fit.
429.89 -> This means if you are lucky then 2 out of the 3 pieces will match.
433.85 -> The front on the car is held in place with the usual clips and it is angled.
438.93 -> So here is our finished car!
440.8 -> The Gulf livery is absolutely gorgeous, we could argue if this is the exact shade of
445.11 -> blue or not, but when I tried to look up the original that one had different variations
449.25 -> as well.
450.25 -> The main point - it is instantly recognizable.
452.49 -> I love the orange accents, and the central stripe works very well too.
457.49 -> It is stickers mostly, apart from the printed windshield.
460.99 -> The shade of the printed colors does not match exactly the bricks and the stickers, but it's
465.49 -> much-much better than in other cases, for example the print on the Jesko.
470.13 -> The overall body shape is good, The front works very well, I totally love the look of
474.72 -> the splitter and the angled nose.
477.27 -> We have the number 6 sticker on the front and on the sides as well, as I mentioned this
481.21 -> is not a mistake, that was the number reserved for the 2020 Heritage Edition GTs.
486.05 -> I know there are more photos online with number 9, that was the 2019 edition referring to
491.56 -> the winning car of 1968.
494.33 -> You can actually turn the sticker around, although in that case their position will
498.37 -> be less correct.
499.68 -> I really like the angled sides with the massive air intake, although this is the area where
504.77 -> some limitations of the scale start to show.
507.36 -> The original Ford GT has a very complex body shaping at the rear, with a significantly
512.56 -> narrowing rear end, covers over the rear wheels and an arc connecting the two with a huge
517.45 -> gap between them.
518.8 -> That gap is practically missing from the model, but I think this is completely understandable
524.25 -> considering the scale and the limitation of the brick.
527.33 -> We can appreciate the effort from the top view, as you see the angled body lines starting
531.94 -> from the doors are actually followed by the triangular plates at the rear, with some black
536.55 -> stickers trying to simulate the gap between the body sections.
539.76 -> I already mentioned the angled transparent engine cover, and below that you can actually
544.84 -> see the tiny representation of the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost engine.
550.36 -> The rear again looks nice, here we actually get the proper gap between the sections.
554.88 -> The central dual exhaust are stickers only, but the rear lights are using transparent
559.73 -> round plates.
561.22 -> The usage of the horizontal grille piece in the middle of the diffuser is interesting,
565.78 -> on the original you have a small light there but it is still dominated by the vertical
569.86 -> fins of the diffuser.
572.06 -> The interior is all black, some details are added with the sticker in the center, and
576.36 -> the seats look also cool with the headrest and the central brick-built silver line.
581.49 -> The driver has a classic color scheme with the printed torso, he actually looks very
585.69 -> much like the minifig we got in the 2016 Speed Champions set, but this time the stripes on
591.15 -> the jacket match the Gulf livery, very cool detail!
594.53 -> Speaking of the previous Ford GT & GT40 set, if we put them side by side we can really
599.61 -> appreciate the added level of detail and the improved proportions that came with the 8
604.55 -> stud wide sets.
605.71 -> So, let's sum it up!
607.63 -> I think you already know my opinion about the set - I totally love both cars and I think
612.07 -> despite their difference they look great together and work well as a pack.
615.76 -> Both of them are pretty accurate, and despite some small annoyances like the misaligned
619.87 -> prints of the headlights or the lack of suspension on the Bronco I can highly recommend the set,
625.03 -> it is truly one of my favorites from the 2021 Speed Champions lineup.
629.28 -> Let me know your thoughts in the comments, please give this video a thumbs up if you
632.59 -> liked it, you can also subscribe and tap the notification bell if you don't want to miss
636.94 -> the upcoming Speed Champions reviews and my other LEGO videos.
640.81 -> See you next time, bye bye!
